Going this weekend. If there is one in the neighborhood, it will find me. I have to wear repellant at night at WDW no matter what time of year. Any problems at DL or DCA,especially around bushes and water areas? Hopefully, the dryer climate helps.

My advise is to bring your repellent. While CA has a dryer climate, we still have mosquitos. My sister was commenting about how many are in our house and there's no standing water around us. DL, on the other hand, has lots of standing water. Personally, they just don't bite me (apparently I don't have the blood type they like), but if you're likely to get bitten, wear the repellent.

We have them in Calif..but I have never been bitten at DL..in all the years I have gone...

OP, I am like you, I get bitten all the time and I have been bitten at Disneyland. Not to the extremes I have at WDW but still have gotten my share! I just put on the Off repellant in the am before I leave my hotel. I also carry those Off wipes in my backpack and use them at night. When I do that I am usually fine, if I forget they do indeed find me! A few times waiting for fireworks I have gotten a few bites. And also by my hotel pool. I think DL is probably like WDW, they spray or do something to deter the pests but the motels/hotels around there probably don't. Thankfully the drier climate does help with the mosquitoes. And you won't see the lizards and other reptile friends at DL either!

Oh, and I have never gotten bit by chiggers at DL but always do at WDW so thats another good thing about DL.

We have never had a problem at DL. My dd and I both seem to get bitten a lot when we are out in nature, but never at DL.

This may sound strange, but we've found the best thing to pack in case of mosquitos is a "Bounce" dryer sheet. If you start to notice mosquitos, just take out the Bounce sheet and rub it on your hands, legs, neck, etc. It keeps them away as well as any repellant will. Plus, it smells a lot better and is very easy to pack around.

This really does work..My mom told me about it a few years ago..

We have never seen one at DL. When we are home, there are a few but the county abates them fairly well.

Another vote for not seeing them at DL. They must have a very good abatement program.

If there is a mosquito, it will find me!! I have never gotten bit in California!!

I react very violently to most bites, so I would remember.

Have fun, put on bug spray if you feel like it. I do not use DEET products, and I live in the desert where we do not have more than 3 mosquitos a season, lol!

The climate at WDW is not the same as the climate at DL. In many trips, I don't remember a single mosquito bite...and normally they find me no matter how much clothing or mosquito repellant I wear. I wear shorts and no repellant with no problem.

Although I am sure there are Mosq. bugs in DL Im another vote for a have not seen one.

Great tip about the bounce sheet. I will try that.
