Mosquito Repellent?

Which is why no one legit has definitively said that the virus is the cause. Research is being done, but no one is yet saying that there is a definitive A to B link.

This. I'm inclined to think there is a more complicated answer.

I never get bites on property surprisingly. Not even when sitting outside at Pop at night by the lake.

During my CP, I got advice from a full time CM to rub dryer sheets on your skin to deter mosquitoes. Weirdly enough, it worked for me when I tried it while off property.

I went last trip with 2 different suntan lotions, 1 attracted bugs like no tomorrow and we didn't even make it to the bus the first time we used it before going back and showering it off. The other, never even noticed a bug. My daughter claimed it was because 1 spray had aloe and insects hate that but never bothered to look it up.

I guess the moral of the story is, if your having issues with insects look at the products your using and one is probably attracting them. Disney does sell bug spray all over the place if you end up wanting or needing it.

While sitting waiting for Fantasmic, there are so many bugs that attack while it's still light out. I forgot bug spray in the car once (eaten alive) and never again.

Like I said, I'll be 34 weeks when we go in April. I'm really curious as to the risk for third trimester when the brain is pretty much formed.

We planned on going to fort wilderness for the chip and dale sing along but if chances are higher to get bitten there...then we will skip it.

We never bring bug spray because Disney has a world class pest control team. It's rare when we see a mosquito.

If you are worried though, then buy the "OFF: Deep Woods" spray. According to studies it's suppose to be the best bug spray that's strong and lasts the longest.

If you live life afraid, it's pretty boring. It will be what it will be. Disney world is one of the safest places in the world, the last thing I'd be worried about are mosquitos transmitting a disease.

When I walk my dogs in the summer, I use a few drops of tea tree oil. Much healthier than using those commercial sprays. Never had a need to use it at Disney though.

Garlic also works naturally but, well, some of the other effects, like not being able to talk to people unless you are chewing gum, are less than desirable but garlic powder on your morning toast and then brushing your teeth is a good way to go around naturally.

Yes. I'm in the "if they're there they'll bite me" category and when I was in Epcot this Nov I got bit once on my neck and once on my face. Mind you I never once saw a mosquito and, as usual, my non-bug sprayed companion didn't get bit at all I was good about spraying my Off Smooth and Dry everywhere else on me but I didn't want to spray my face/neck area. Next time I'll spray some on my hand and rub it on my neck and face.

6 trips in and we have had a bite. Never occurred to me to take repellent. Never gone in the summer - are the bugs really bad then?

On site, no. As others have stated, I have never been bitten while on site. If you are going to be spending any time outside of the Disney bubble I would suggest having some DEET based spray available.

Bug spray can't hurt. Or bug wipes.

Many do say they have never been bitten by mosquitoes on Disney property...I have. Several times.

Working on my packing for our trip in another week. Do we need bug spray in the parks?

We've never had a need for it in all our many trips. Disney uses a lot of techniques to defend against bugs including using attack bugs such as lacewings, ladybugs, praying mantis, etc...

On a personal note, if anyone gets a bite it will be me. I got two mosquito bites on the bench at International Gateway in Epcot that were horrible.

I've never seen a mosquito at Disney honestly. One year we were there and those stupid love bugs were at our resort. Other than that nothing really. We did see 2 alligators in the water on the walkway between liberty square and frontier land in November. That was something new.

I'm normally a bug bite magnet. Black Flies, Gnats, Mosquitos, etc, usually love me and I end up covered with bites even when no one else around me gets any. I don't remember ever getting a bug bite at Disney.

You won't need it, but I think you should better carry it when walking outside because sometimes the unexpected happens with us. Usually, Exterminator Wallingford CT are done to these kinds of area to prevent pests. But as it is said prevention is better than cure you should carry it.

Disney releases millions of bugs every year that prey on mosquitoes so getting bitten in WDW is not going to happen. I live 25 miles from WDW for the last three years and I have gotten about three bites total. I live right next to a canal. The Zika virus isn't an issue. All twenty cases in Florida came from people who traveled to get it.

I am a bug magnet, that being said, the only times I got bites was sitting on my balcony at night, especially at AKL. I was eaten alive! If you plan to spend time on your balcony I would suggest bringing it.
