Morning routine

I used to have to get up at 3:30 am as I had to be to work by 6 and had a ways to commute. You do what you have to do. Right before I quit I would litterally come home and go to bed and sleep til I had to get up. Dont miss that job at all. Jo

I had to get up at 4:30 during the time I worked, but not for long, I changed jobs. I lived where it is warm, I can't imagine getting up when it is so cold outside, or when they have the occasional snow or ice. I am a wimp.

Sounds like you're sleeping in!

I'm up at 2 am.
Cup of instant coffee and a quick check of my work e-mail and online papers.
2:25 am
Brush the teeth, shave and get dresses.
2:40 am out the door
3 am at work.

Yeah, I sleep in till around 6:00 am.

I can't shower right away in the morning. I would drown for sure. My eyes aren't fully functional until I have at least a cup of coffee 2 is makes them clearer.

I have a very strict morning routine and I never deviate from it (well, except on the weekends, of course):

1. Alarm off at 5:45 am
2. Immediately to the shower
3. To the living room at 6:00 to catch the weather and a bit of Morning Joe on MSNBC
4. Wake up DS, 17, at 6:15 and shoo him into the shower to get ready for school
5. Pack my lunch and make breakfast for DS
6. Head upstairs to get dressed, finish my hair, get some makeup on and brush teeth
7. Out the door at 6:45 to be to work by 7:00

If I had to so much as sneeze in there, it would throw off everything.

I got up at 5:00 this morning and used the elliptical- still got in the shower at the same time though (10 minutes before we had to leave).:lmao:

I was never able to do this.....how do you go to bed with wet hair? My hair is very thick and won't dry for a few hours after washing it.

ETA: I can, however, take a VERY fast shower, even with hair washing, and usually would not blow dry it, just leave for work with semi-wet hair (wash hair at 5:30 and school started at 7:40am so it looked almost dry by the time I had students walk in.) I have always had a wash 'n go style though.

Dawn

I'm a night shower taker, but I blow-dry my hair before going to bed. My hair is super thick (therefore takes a while to wash and condition) so I can't shower in the morning without having to give myself at least an hour to shower/blowdry/style/makeup and get dressed (and that doesn't even include breakfast) and I want to sleep in as late as possible.

I will preface this by saying that I HATE doing my hair. I usually only blow my hair dry and "style" it about 4 times a year. Luckily, I have longish, wavy hair, so I don't think it looks too bad all the other 360 days of the year. And I always have a pony-tail holder on my wrist - I can't stand having hair in my face.

I usually try to shower at least an hour before I go to bed, so it has some chance to air dry. I don't like that wet pillow feeling. In the morning I just put some mousse (SP?) in it, scrunch, and am finished in about 30 seconds.

Are you my long-lost twin? :rotfl: This is all so me!

I also shower at night. I usually either run or hit the gym in the evening and don't want to go to bed all covered in sweat.

My morning routine is:

Wake up
Turn on coffee maker
Put in contacts
Wash face
Brush teeth
Get dressed
Pour coffee
Hit the road

I go from fast asleep to in my car in about 10 minutes.

My "go to work" morning routine:
(I shower at night)
Get out of bed
Make coffee
Brush teeth
feed cats
make bed
put deodorant on
get dressed
Drink coffee
DIS
put cats out
put make-up on/work with hair
drink another cup of coffee
DIS some more
eat a bowl of cereal and go

"summer" routine:
Get out of bed, dress, make coffee, feed cats, sit outside in lawnchairs and drink lots of coffee in the sunshine ALL morning long. And DIS. ;)

Up at 7 am, shower, hair, make-up dressed for work and out the door at 8 am. I can't do it faster than an hour.

At work at 8:30 am and then I eat breakfast at my desk.

I don't have time for anything else and I sure am not getting up any earlier since I don't get off work until 6 pm which means home by 7pm.

Yes, it does take me a half hour to get in and an hour to get home. I carpool.
