Anyone have experience with visiting a park early in the day when an After Hours event is scheduled?

My sister visited MK on two days that the Christmas party was offered. She said is was not crowded at all in the morning.

We will be attending the MK EEH on the same day that the HS After Hours event is scheduled. So I am wondering if we should make a park reservation for HS on that day. We have hoppers and could go to HS at RD, nap, and attend MK EEH later in the day.

For a true after hours event where they only let in a couple of thousand guests (if that) after the park closes, then you will not notice any difference in crowd level in the morning or throughout the day or even when they let event guests in. A couple of thousand people is unnoticable. Plus most of those people attending the event will most likely be arriving at 7pm.

The Christmas party is a different story. The reason the morning crowds on a Christmas party day is light is because the park closes early that day (6pm instead of 11pm and no fireworks for day guests). People don’t want to blow a park ticket on a short day, so they go to one of the other three parks that day. In your case, HS will close like normal and will get normal day crowds.

DAH doesn’t have any effect on day crowds. The park stays open regular hours & normal nighttime entertainment isn’t effected. The parties are different, because often the park has shorter hours that day & fireworks don’t happen. Many people who don’t have park hoppers won’t go to MK on a day that has limited hours & no fireworks because they don’t feel it’s a good value. The crowds on party days are lighter because of that. Crowds are normal on DAH days because everyone gets a normal full park experience before the After Hours starts.
