Morning menus in the parks?

Are all the restaurants in the parks open when the park opens? If so, do they serve breakfast items or their regular menu?

I know Citywalk has breakfast options. I was specifically talking about in park. The menus listed don't seem to vary for time of day, so I assume they do not have breakfast items in the morning. I see the part that says:

At the parks: Universal Studios has Boulangerie for pastries and breakfast croissants. IOA has Croissant Moon for pastries and breakfast croissants. IOA also has Cinnabon and seasonally open Green Eggs and Ham

However, I remember going for a character breakfast at Cafe LaBamba many years ago and they had scrambled egg platters. I didn't see that mentioned in that post. Does that still happen? Can you go there without doing a character breakfast? I also don't see any indication of hours of operation, so can I assume you can get a burger at Mel's diner at 9AM?

Loopy read all the stickies and search for current threads to find the details you need

We can share what we have experienced but it may be general information that we have personally experienced

Use the UO site to gain operational hours of Mel's and if they sell a burger at 9:00 am

There is a portion on the new UO website where hours of operation lists meal periods and menus

The link schumi posted is valuable

Damo is extremely active in updating the menu threads

UO revises info frequently for the park restaurants
What we do then is update our stickies to keep it current with direct links

Currently in the process to replace some current sticky links to reflect changes UO has made

It is a time consuming job for us as we are trying to avoid our readers of going thru a few links to reach the main info

We want to provide the shortcut way for fact finding quickly

There is a form I have in the quick access sticky for the email address to contact UO
One is for park info from UO and other is for food info

Use that prompt to directly contact the department that can answer specific questions

And please come back to share so it will help others!!

We try to work as a team and do our best to provide info to help with trip planning

For me, I am a volunteer who tries very hard to help find answers when asked

When I receive a pm about the parks or anything UO related I answer the pm

If I get a few pm's of the same subject then I add info to the stickies as guessing others may also benefit with more info

I don't always know an answer but I do work hard to find the answers

The character breakfast in the park still is, I think, but the price is like twice as much when I did it 2 years ago. I doubt you can eat there without purchasing the character meal deal.

I don't think any of the in park restaurants otherwise serve breakfast, except for the potter ones. You usually need a reservation, but I don't think you need one much any more, if go later in the morning. I've gotten a scrambled egg sandwich from the Boulangerie that was pretty tasty, and a platter, with fruit and a lunch type of sandwich from the C. Moon. Otherwise, probably better to get breakfast from the hotel, or in City Walk if you don't like the food from the potter places. I would guess all the menu items would be available if the place was open. I've been known to just eat ice cream for breakfast, but I hope this helps.

Loopy many of us do find out menu changes happen without prior heads up

For me, menu changes that happen before I sit down at, for example, Mythos, drives me nuts

To plan and then wait for eating at Mythos and discovering the entree I went there for is not available, disappoints me

Character breakfast can substitute items on the menu on occasions

I stick with the rpr character breakfast buffet as I'm there first for the food and second for the minionions

Go with the characters you like best and food options be secondary in choosing a character meal

I agree with Mac, if I'd do a character meal, I'd do the one at the hotel. It's buffet, which my kids would prefer, and minions are probably the only one's they'd put up with. When Dora came out in the La Bama one, my teen DS headed to the bathroom. Oh well, my younger one got some great pictures. She's more okay with the characters than her sibling.

Yeah, not much annoys me, but I find it highly annoying when the parks, both Disney and Universal, change their menus by the time I'm ready to eat there (and that's after I've checked right before I've left). I also get sad when the item I was really wanting either disappears or changes to something I don't want.

Damo does a great job keeping up in the menu thread.

Touring Plans has all the restaurant menus:

There aren't a lot of in-park breakfast options but I do know that both Leaky Cauldron (in USF) and Three Broomsticks (in IOA) have breakfast. This can be booked ahead of time or you can try walk-up but you might not get in.

The Superstar Breakfast still takes place at Cafe La Bamba but only Thursday-Saturday and it has to be booked ahead of time: https://www.universalorlando.com/we...sals-superstar-character-breakfast/index.html

Mjhtvchick has excellent menus posted in the UO boards and has also had them included in food threads

Check them out too!

Damo's thread for me is my favourite.

Clear and updated regularly. We do try to help where we can.
