Morning Java Fix at AKL

I have read so many posts about how those at AKL with Savannah views have enjoyed their early morning coffee on their balcony while watching the animals. This sounds like heaven to me - but I was wondering - where do you get a REALLY good pot of coffee at AKL?

On a previous trip we got a pressed pot of Kenyan AA coffee at Boma's after dinner - and it was probably the best coffee I've ever had. Is there any way to get a pressed pot of Kenyan AA coffee delivered to the room? I'd even go pick one up if I knew where to go.

As a last resort I'll pack my own pressed pot and bring my favorite cofee from home - but I'm on vacation - I really don't want to mess with making coffee unless I have too!

Here is the room service menu, but it does not show the pressed pots of coffee on it. I would imagine you could contact Boma or Jiko and inquire about ordering a pot. I have always requested the four cup coffee pot and brought my own GOOD coffee. Not as good as a pressed pot, but the animal and savannah view make it seem so much better!

does anyone know what kind of coffee they serve at mara? last time we sere there I thought it was better than your average cup of coffee. Maybe it was just my surroundings?!!!

We also will be requesting one of their coffee pots but will bring our own coffee.

I take my travel pot with me everywhere - AKL will be the same....
I'm picky, I don't really like many other coffees besides my own.

I travel 3 out of 4 weeks a month and found that Starbucks has filter packs for use in the 4 cup coffee makers! These work out great! Plus I always have my Starbucks in the AM no matter where I go!

We love Starbucks coffee and get it at the grocery store but do not have a Starbucks real close by that we go to often so we have never seen the 4 cup packs. My husband is going to be thrilled when he hears this.

I think it was your surroundings???

I believe the coffee served at Mara is the same as in the other resorts. Tasted the same to me at least. I don't understand why they can't serve decent coffee to the masses.

room service Kenya AA Press Pot of Coffee for breakfast any morning! It is on the room service menu, both door hanger and regular!

I did it every morning for our trip this summer!

But, BE SPECIFIC! Or else, you'll end up with that Nescafe...BLUCK!
