Hi,

I'm just wondering if booking Morimoto is crucial or not. We will be there in Feb next year. Also does it make a difference if you book through Disney or through OpenTable?

I have done most of the ADRs which are still able to be changed around a bit but just wondered if the newer places like Morimoto and House of Blues (there's no concerts during the dates I'm looking) are walk in possible these days or I should just pick a date and book?

We are looking at Dinner.

Thanks

We were there last week during a weekday for dinner and it appeared they were taking walk ins with about a 30 minute wait. We had reservations and went right in. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I thought the spicy fried rice was excellent. Service was good. It's a little pricey but a very nice place for dinner.

If you want a prime time (between 6-8 p.m.), I would say a reservation is required, unless you feel like waiting a while.

My suggestion would be book thru OpenTable . At least that way if you change your mind the day of you won't get charged a fee.

Cheers...I'll try and finalise the last up in the air dates for dining and book :-)
I know it's somewhere definitely right up our alley

The weekend of the W&D race they weren't taking walk-ins, but it was crowded that day. I'd use OpenTable for the reservation, since they don't have a penalty charge if you miss it.

We were there doing food and wine - we tried to walk in on a Saturday afternoon and there was no availability. We though booked dinner through OpenTable the next day without a problem. In truth, we were super excited about Morimoto's and were completely underwhelmed by the food.

Being English and Australian we take every Asian restaurant in the USA with a grain of salt and never expect too much. We have far more Authentic Asian cuisine and flavour choices here and there's no point having too high an expectation.

In saying that though I think we will enjoy this very much and I've booked through Disney for now as OpenTable says we are still outside the booking window for Feb. Anyone know when OpenTable booking window is? In case I want to change to one through them?

Check around 60 days from your visit. On Opentable I have booked 4 months out but have had other places not appear till 90 to 60 days before.

Best Japanese in Australia is probably Sake in Sydney CBD. Or there's IchiBan Boshi also in Sydney CBD.
For Chinese there's Phoenix Restaurant for Yum Cha (Dim Sum) but there's loads of good ones.
For good noodles you don't need to pay much with the amazing Seabay handmade noodles in a few suburban locations around Sydney.
I'm the Aussie side so not sure on the best places in the UK yet. But I've been to amazing Indian restaurants there.

I live in Brisbane so know Sake. So you are looking at high end Asian ventures? Because Sake is 'hatted' ! Have you been to Barnes in London excellent venture. I have not been to Morimoto but I think while expensive for Orlando I am guessing by the look of the food you will love it but that is a guess. But you know Australia has very little African Cuisine so maybe try Jiko have not been there but has excellent reviews.
