Morimoto Opening Date? Any word?

I am waiting with bated breath for an opening day for Morimoto's at DTD. We are traveling late July and if it is open, I want to snag a reservation for DH and I to have a little date night. We are big Iron Chef, Morimoto, and sushi fans! Has anyone heard anything more specific than Summer 2015?

I haven't but I ate at his place in Philadelphia about 12 years ago and it was fantastic!!!! I hope they keep the quality the same

I have only heard "late summer" so far - if you are lucky, that might be late July. Or it could be August. Hopefully they'll release something more concrete soon!

Ohh. Might have to rearrange our ADRs because if this is available during our late August trip, it will be a must-do!

Saw this on the page today, so I don't think it will be on the plan:

Make me sad because Im going in November with FD and LOVE sushi :sad:

Thanks. Don't think I've seen a Disney restaurant listed as $60+ before. Super pricey

With all respect to how convenient the dining plan is, I really hope this and the other new Disney Spring's resturants will stay off the dining plan. The quality will hopefully be better, and they won't have to reduce prices and quality.

(I think Narcossee's and V&A are 60+, too?)

On the bright side, late summer may mean that even if it's an August opening, there may be a 'soft opening' in late July. No res's, but if you get there around opening, there's a decent possibility of getting in.

V&A is certainly $60 plus. I believe a few items at Narcoosee's are

That does seem a bit pricey. But they listed the Boathouse as that too. And I didn't see anything outrageous on their menu. So hopefully it will be about the same. I did a quick filter on the $60+ restaurants at Disney and besides dinner packages and shows, the only restaurants listed were:

* The Boathouse
* CRT
* Mortimoto Asia
* STK Steakhouse
* V&A

It does appear that Disney is really trying to turn the Landing portion of Disney Springs into a more upscale dining experience. Love it!

I'm not a big proponent of the DDP but we are using it this fall during free dining. If these restaurants are on it may try one out if we can get reservations

My experience with Morimoto restaurants has been that once the hype dies down and Morimoto is no longer onsite the quality goes downhill. The only consistently good one I've been to is NYC. Both Maui and Waikiki have been disappointing on return trips as was Boca Raton. I hope the pan Asian concept works. I also hope it stays off the dining plan.

Don't be discouraged that it says it's not going to be on the DDP. The Boathouse listing also said that until a month after it opened.
