More Vacation As You Wish ??????

Okay I have read of two accounts of this possibly not being worth it. Once person that posted said it went wayyyyyyy over. Another said the same and it is more for people that are wanting to add points or buy their first points.

If you have attended what did you think???

We are arriving the Poly on 21st around 1:00/1:15 and our reservation for the presentation is at 3:00. We have dinner at 7 with friends at WCC. I think we need to be at the registration desk at CR 25 min. early. I am guesssing that we will have little or no time to check in at Poly before going and then will we even have time to go back to Poly before out dinner ressie at WCC??

I just want to make sure it is worth doing I guess. WE are not adding points however we would like the tour and some of the other stuff. I don't want to sit down with anyone about adding on points though.

Well we went and enjoyed it,with 2 teens, Just a tip get there early to the event they put you in smallish groups. We were in group 18 but happened to be in the right place right time and were asked to move up to group 6. If you have a ressie that evening ask to be in 1 of the 1st groups. All total we received 4 freebie gifts, my opinion, its worth it if for nothing else then the tour of BLT. Shawn

I attended the Vacation As You Wish presentation 2 nights ago. I found it very fun and informative. I would suggest getting there as early as you can. They will give you a Mickey sticker with a number on it at registration. This will be your tour number to see the new villas at Bay Lake Tower. The smaller the number, the quicker you will go on the tour after the one hour presentation.

I was not interested in purchasing and did not talk to a Vacation Club Guide while I was there.

Does the whole party need to be present at registration? Do you get to sit down as soon as you register or what?

This sounds almost exactly like the event in Chicago and other places without the BLT tour. There are a lot of people who went to them that are going to this event. We're going and we did Chicago. I've seen pics and it's the same Wish-Meister (of course there can be but one) and my guide was one of the people doing the presentations at both places.

It's not high pressure. The handouts were OK. The food was OK. I want to do the tour and the fast passes will help out since the park will be crowded. Won't have to get up at dawn to do TSM or Soarin'. The show itself didn't drag even though we weren't interested in RCI at all and going to places other than WDW isn't part of our deal.

As far as WCC, I'm sure if you showed up at 7:30 they would seat you without a problem. Meeting with friends is a bit of an issue.

How many fast passes do you get? We are a party of 5 and are they to be used that day or can you use them days later? Thanks

From what I read 3 per person good for 4 days after the event. You have to ask for them.

My family just went and we thought it was wonderful. I am not currently staying at WDW, though. Mom lives an hour away and I am staying with her for a few weeks, so in truth, "we had nothing better to do." NEVERTHELESS, we really enjoyed ourselves.

We checked in around 2:30 and there was already a small group of people waiting for the 3pm show. They give you a folder with a "name and address" thingy to fill out, and when while we filled that out they gave us a numbered sticker. I was in group 5 so I got on the tour fairly quickly after the assembly ended.

We thought the "show" was good and I enjoyed the info they shared. No pressure at this point. After, while we waited for our tour to leave, we enjoyed Disney music (loud -- there was a DJ) and we had freebie snacks. They had little sandwiches, all kinds of Mickey ice cream like they serve at the parks, and little fruit kebobs plus drinks. I am easy to please -- give me a free Mickey Head bar and I am happy -- but I enjoyed this too.

Soon they called group #5 and off we went. The tour was WONDERFUL -- getting to peek at a resort we have watched go up was just great. The tour was not rushed. During the tour they did tell us a few times that "If we wanted to sit down with a guide" there would be some extra goodies. For "taking up vacation time" they were offering everyone in your group a card worth 3 fastpasses, good for 72 hours." I thought that seemed reasonable. They also promised a tour of additional smaller rooms (1-and 2-bedroom I think) as the tour only marches you through a Grand Villa. The tour ends in the Member Lounge. WOW -- what views!

We had a lovely afternoon and it cost nothing. We enjoyed an entertaining show, had some free snacks, got lots of little goodies (luggage tags and little binoculars) and then had a tour of a fabulous resort. I felt NO pressure... I KNEW I wasn't adding on! I have enough points and enough DUES and I really just wanted to look. I think 99% of the folks in the group were like me... Very few were "sitting down" to talk about buying. Most of us were just wandering around with our mouths hanging open!

I would go again. I really enjoyed it!

So do you only get the "goodies" aka fast passes if you sit down with the guide?? Also can you see the 1 and 2 bedrooms without sitting down with a guide? thanks

Nope, you understood correctly. At least in my group, to get the card with 3 fastpasses and a look at the other rooms, you had to "talk to a guide." They were stationed in the Member Lounge. They had a balloon guy to entertain your kids while they tried to dazzle you with the view and get you to buy more points.

I went last Thursday. Seriously, "Mr and Ms Perky" telling me all about the exchanges and the "great deals" at BLT... While the show is not "high pressure" it's not exactly "breaking news" either.

The Grand Villa was very nice, but probably not worth waiting over two hours to see. You only see the 1 or 2 bedroom if you see a guide. Now if you want to buy, it does sound like the deal there is better then the walk up deal so it might be worth it.

I did not talk to a guide so no fast pass for me. (I was leaving the next morning so no loss there)
