Just saw a movie preview for Live Action "Peter Pan" . I was thinking, "Oh, not another Peter Pan movie." But the credits had Universal. UNIVERSAL!!! Talk about beating a dead horse

Actually, I think that a GOOD live-action version of Peter Pan would be nice. I personally wasn't all that impressed with Hook. The author of the article you linked seems to agree even though he likes Hook.

I'm not buying it. If this had been a Disney movie...people wouild be lining up to get their tickets now.

Then how about a CGI version?

OH yeah...the next great thing from Eisner..they are going to make shot for shot (read exact scene for scene copies) of all of Walts works. Great Idea.

So a Universal remake.

Live action or CGI
Big cast or unknown cast
Disney or Universal
Remake or remake

I do not see a difference. You can argue which remake is better, but that is beside the point. Where did I see that dead horse?

I'm sorry that you can't see the potential difference between a live action remake ...where there is a different interpretation of the story....and what Eisner is planning on doing. Which is basically tracing the movie again into CGI same words..same exact scenes same order same interpretation.. Please tell me you see the difference?

I suppose CGI will give you 3D view, that you did not have before, giving you new insight into interaction between the characters. ;)

different interpretation of the story

I do not think so.

That is a remake. Usually not too different. Usually not too original. Even watching the same story 10 years later will produce different effect on the same person.:D

I totally agree. A remake is a remake. Yeah, I know, Disney does it, too. But when another studio tries to do it, then it's worth seeing? How about an original story....

I think he was being sarcastic:rolleyes:

NO where did I say if I thought the Universal version would be good. MY only point was that if Disney had done the exact same thing...a live action remake then the average Disney nut would not being saying anything about a dead horse.

He they were being sarcastic then why defend the CGI version?

I prefer to withhold judgment until I actually see the movie. This movie could use a remake IMO which doesn't take anything away from the classic animated version. A live action version could be quite good or very bad and it could be the same story or a bit different. What appeals to me is seeing actual people play the parts complete with human emotion and interaction.
