Is it just me or does it seem like there are more pop-up adds on many sites starting last week?

Sometimes it takes 5 minutes just to close all the pop-ups before I get off the computer. Then I come back and there's a whole bunch of them there again waiting for me.

I was just thinking last night that the blocking technology is ahead of the pop-up technology. I haven't seen one in months.

IE + Google Toolbar = No Pops.

It also helps to run a spyware removal program (such as Adaware from www.lavasoftusa.com) to get rid of Comet Cursor, Gator, New.Net, and a myriad of other programs that do nothing other than spy on your web surfing habits.

Xupiter is another nasty one. It will open pop ups when you aren't even using a browser!

Another good removal tool is Spybot Seach & Destroy.

I am using a free trial of Stopzilla(I think that is what it is) and it is fabulous...not one single pop up. But it is $20/mo...any free pop up blockers?

Definitely, Mozilla has one built in to their browser. You can get the Google Toolbar for IE, there are probably a few that can be found on something like Download.com or similar sites.

It is not worth paying for, that is for sure!
