Hi Everyone,
I looked in the stickys at the top of the forum, but I could not find this answer. A poster mentioned that you can open more than one instance of vmk on your computer. I have 2 dds that play and they want to see each other, but we only have one computer. Is it possible to do this? Thanks in advance for any/all help

Welcome to the VMK Forum!

Yes you can it is the same as opeing two browser windows at the same time.

It will cause some software conflicts, depending on your computer.

Use the Full screen version link in the guide and just sign in each character. Then to find each other once in the game pick a room to meet....to do this use the "Advanced Mode" setting click on an area and pick an instance.

Some people expierence trouble when using the same browser and have to use an alternative like Firefox.

Hope that helps

Mal

What I do is open VMK the usual way then I have this link book marked

https://secure.disney.go.com/vmk/en_US/index?name=LoginPage&bhcp=1

and open this page either in a new page or on the same page as the front page of vmk- and log in like usual

this works great for me- two windows I usually have no problems with but when I open more sometimes what I type is difficult to read and see in some of the instances that are opened.

another method is to not log in in the pop up window but click control and N (believe it is in) and another pop up will open up.

I like the first method simply because if I accidently close my instance I no longer need i can easily reopen- you can also use history to open a past log in attempt just make sure that the www has a 2 after it...

hope this helps and didn't confuse you more- there was a post somewhere about all these- (Mal- maybe that could be added to your player's guide if it isn't already there)

I still get the black screen of Doom when I try to use Firefox :(

I use the Control N method for mule meetings :)

Trixie: Sometimes I too end up with the black screen on Firefox, but I just press the F5 button (refresh) and it logs me in. :) Try that and see if it helps.
If it doesn't, the I don't know waht else to do. :confused3

I use the Control N method - too when I need to trade between two of our characters... I find I have to control N to open the second window at the log in screen before I log in to the first character... we have two computers, but sometimes the laptop which is wireless is very slow!

thanks for your help everyone, it is working for me to go from the dispage
