More than one DVC?

I've noticed that several DVC owners own at more than one resort. Is this so each one will be your home resort?

It gives you the 11 month home resort priority reservation at multiple locations. Since you can't combine points for that, it often involves banking and borrowing or owning enough points at each resort to make the necessary reservation.

We used to own at three resorts but over time have sold off the ones we were less interested in and purchased more at the one we really love.

When we bought, we wanted AKV but SSR was a really good price! So, after asking some questions here, we got some great advice. We split our points--150 at each. Each year we have 300 points to use at one resort by banking/borrowing. This year it's SSR, so we're at the Treehouses. We banked our 2009 AKV points, and so for 2010 we'll have 300 to use at AKV.

When we bought ours the first two times it was a choice as BWV and SSR were offered, but the last two times SSR were the only available, when we buy again we will go for where we want our home resort unless the deal is so outstanding that it can not be passed up.

We usually go 2 weeks at a time and spend one week at each location!

We have 200 points at SSR and 100 at AKV. We use AKV points to stay there. We use SSR points for whatever else we may want... we're pretty flexible.

yes, but as already stated, if you own 200 BWV pts and 50 BLT pts, you would still only be able to book BLT at 11 months out by using BLT pts (so if you use banked, current and borrowed BLT pts, you can use 150 BLT pts at the 11 month window every third year). the BWV pts can only be used at BLT at 7 months.

Wow..NICE idea. IDeally, how many points would your contract need to do something like this?
