More than one credit card on keys to the world??

My wife's mother is joining us on our next 7 day land and sea adventure. We get along great and are really looking forward to her accompanying us (she's 65 and never been to Disney - can you believe it?)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has ever been in our situation. We are in the same room - but I am sure DMIL would like to be able to charge things with her key to the world card and have it billed to her credit card separate from ours. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks!

I know on the ship you can have seperate credit cards for each key to the world card. Not sure about the land portion.

I am going to try and write this in a way that makes sense... I work at WL so I don't want to lose you on technical terms...

Ok for the Land portion you can use 2 seperate CC's but you MUST make sure that you are NOT on express check out. Here is the thing, the hotel system can not take more than one card at a time, so you would only be leaving one CC at check in that would in turn "open" the account valid to charge. The Keys to the World cards will be numbered at the bottom, the last number signifies who's card it is (there will be a bunch of numbers and then 01, 02, 03 etc.) when you charge back to the hotel room the entire number will show on the bil. What you would need to do is get a copy of the bil the night before you leave (or morning of, just leave time) and go over the charges and either figure out for yourself who owes what or highlight (star, asterik, whatever) your mother-in-laws charges and go to the desk and have them figure out the difference. Then you can say I want X amount of money charged to this card and X amount of money charged to that card. This is why you can not be on express check out...it automatically charges the card on file.

As for the ship, the CC that is on the reservation will automatically upload to the ship the night before you sail, when you arrive onboard you can go to the Purser's desk and let them know that your mother-in-law would like to have her own card attached to her Key to the World and you would like you card attached to yours and your wifes. They can attach seperate cards to the keys onboard.

I wish there was a way to do that at the hotels, it would make life so much easier for you and for the CM's but they have not implemented a way yet for it to be done.

I hope I did not lose you on that explanation, if you have questions I will be more than happy to answer them.

Glad to see you back Humphrey the Bear! If I'm not on DCL, I'm at WL! Thanks for your help.

Hmmmm.....I am surprised to read this set of posts. We were very clearly told that you CANNOT have more than one credit card per stateroom and that you CANNOT have a different card for different KTTW cards. You can go down and settle the bill using multiple cards, but you cannot have more than one card attached to a stateroom's account from what we were told when I asked. Was anyone else told the same thing? In previous posts on this topic, that was what I also remember being the policy.

Thanks Humphrey. That was a great explanation! and I followed you every step of the way. Thanks for taking the time to explain. :wave2:

Doc,

on my 3 previous DCL cruises, my friends and I always used separate credit cards, and we stayed in the same stateroom. When we checked in, we just told the CM that we wanted to use different credit cards. So when she activated my KTTWC, she swiped my CC, and she used my friends CC for their KTTWCs. We each got our own statement delivered the last night of the cruise as well.

Unless something has changed sine 03/03.

We too have had no problems in having separate credit cards attached to different KTTW cards from the same stateroom.

When you recieve your cruise docs isn't there a place on EACH of the packets to write in a credit card???? So when you check in all you do is show the credit card. Right?? I think that would make sence.

Yes. Each guest will have a slip in her or his cruise documentation that allows them to write in a credit card for their KTTW cards.

Id been wondering this myself and me and my friend are cruis'in in May and was hoping that it was possiable to use different cards for each- As it might be a pain to try to seperate it all out at the end :)

Is it May yet??

Thanks. I learned something, and had been given wrong information on board (or did not ask precisely).

We had no problem doing that on our cruise either :) Just remember what Humphrey stated they CAN do it on the cruise ship, they CAN NOT do it at the hotels if you have the land/sea packages :)
