Called Disney today to get Reservations for the end of August
Allowed me to do so because I had boooked a package and had the Meal plan It is more than 180 days
I also got Fantasmic revervation for Mama Melrose
I was under the assumption that you could not get Fantasmic or there was an additional charge for the dining plan,
I hope it works out
I will make the kids eat all the good food

By booking a package, you get 180 +10 (you can book 180 days in advance and book for the next 10 days). You can call today and book starting August 18 and (if my quick math is right) up to August 28, which is 190 days from today.

BTW, the Fantasmic Dinner package is not all that great. The seating area for it is not very good. You are all the way on the right if you are facing the stage and sometimes what you are seeing and the what you are hearing do not match up well. Also, you have to show up 30-35 minutes for the Dinner package seats anyway. Your best bet for Fantasmic is to go on a night that it is shown twice and go to the later showing (I understand with young kids this may not be doable). Also, the best seats are left of center There is a pole that divides the seating areas. Sit so that the center pole frames the right side of the stage. Also, unless you want to get misted with water or feel some heat from some other effects, sit halfway up.

Having a package doesn't have anything to do with it. You only need to be staying onsite.

The way it is supposed to work is you can book beginning at the 180 day mark for the next 10 days.

Occasionally, you will find a CM who doesn't understand how the system works and they let people book further out.
