More restaurant suggestions, please!

Still looking for a nice, kid-friendly (or at least kid-tolerable) restaurant in the DL-area for Mother's Day. We're ok with travelling to the coast, so recommendations as far as Huntington or Newport Beach (or other town of similar distance) are fine. We really wanted to go to Duke's in HB but they're booked . We prefer non-chain restaurants please.

If your willing to drive to Newport, the Chart house is nice. Its upscale but we have taken our children there. right on the marina. You can dine indoors or out.

The Mission Inn in Riverside? It's a great brunch buffet. My kids did fine there and I saw others a lot younger. I had Thanksgiving dinner pre-kids and brunch just a few weeks ago.
