I am sure this has been asked a million times, but here goes. I am contemplating staying at the contemp, beach club, boardwalk, or the POFQ. I am not concerned with the cost. I know the contemp makes it easier to get to the MK, but I am staying in a garden wing room. I have small children, and my parents are going to be coming. I basically want my parents to love the resort, so which one do you think is:

1. in the best shape
2. has the best themed rooms
3. has good transportation
4. has easy access to good places to eat

I would take the Beach Club... I think the theming is better there compared to the BoardWalk.. forget the Contemporary's theme... I think that is "cold" and more business oriented. I loved the BC...especially the pool.... You didn't mention the Poly... that would be my first choice.... have you concidered it???

I agree. I've never stayed there, but love the theming of Beach Club and it's close proximity to Epcot and MGM. Plus, its got the best pool!

Well we usually stay at the poly, that is why we wanted to try something different. We will be going to MK two days of the six, so is bus transporation that terrible from BC? Also, is it a far walk to Epcot or MGM?

I think that the Boardwalk Inn and Beach Club meet 3 of your 4 criteria best. The transportation from these parks is good not great -- not really quite in the same league as the monorail resorts. I haven't stayed at POFQ. People love it. Other than the poly, it seems to have the most ardent supporters. I don't think the transportation/location/access to food is as good as the boardwalk resorts, though.

As for the difference between BWI and BC, I'm definitely in the minority on this, but unless the key attraction is the swimming pool, I think the BC/YC are way overrated. (Just my opinion, many many would disagree). So I'd say BWI.

Thanks everyone, this is going to be a tough choice. I have heard the BW is very nice, and fun. I think my kids would love the BC pool though. Is it really that much farther from Epcot between the BC & BW?

The Beach Club and Boardwalk, along with the Yacht Club, Swan and Dolphin are all located in the Epcot resort area. The closest to Epcot is the Beach Club with the Boardwalk (maybe the Swan) being the closest to the Disney Studios. However, they are all within a ten minute walk of each other at most. The Friendship boats service this area travelling between the Epcot International Gateway and the Disney Studios throughout the day. Along the way the boats stop at the Beach/Yacht clubs, Boardwalk, and Swan/Dolphin.
From the BC you would want to take the five minute walk to Epcot. To take the boat you would have to walk away from Epcot towards the Yacht Club. The walk from the Boardwalk to Epcot is maybe ten minutes tops. From the BC the Studios is maybe 15 minutes walking and ten minutes from the Boardwalk. You would probably want to take the boat to the Studios. The bus service from there is ususally shared depending on the season. In June our bus from the Boardwalk shared with the Swan and Dolphin. Back then the Beach and Yacht clubs had their own buses. In the slower seasons all five resorts share the buses. You would only need buses to go to the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdon, water parks, and Downtown Disney. Since we spend so much time at the Studios and Epcot we love staying in this area. If you want to check out eating options go over to allearsnet.com. Check out dining/menus for all the Epcot resorts. A very wide variety of places to choose from.

Having stayed at CR, BW and BC I think BC is your best bet. You have access to a bunch of good restuarants, as well as The Marketplace where you can grab something quickly. Not a terrific variety but it's better than at BW. You can also just walk over to BW and eat at any of their restaurants.
The pool at BC is terrific for the kids. Your parents would most likely enjoy sitting at the pool watching the kids play.
As far as getting to the other parks.....Epcot is about a 5 min. walk thru the Intnl Gateway. MGM is about 15-20 min. via the pathway past BW. The buses aren't all that bad. In fact, I really feel we had better bus service at BW and BC than we did at the Polynesian. Never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus to anywhere!! Yes, you do make several other stops but you do with most of the other resorts also. Not a big deal.

I agree with the Beach Club for the above reasons. Can't wait for our August trip!!! I do wonder, if you usually stay at the Poly, would you mind a smaller room at BC? :confused3

I do not really mind a smaller room, I just want to experience a different resort. Thanks everyone for your help & suggestions. I think we will love the BC

Thanks I have received great advice, & I appreciate everyone's opinions. I think the unanimous decision was the BC, so I am excited about that.
