Time for more questions:

1.What grocery stores are between Panama City(where mom's friend lives) and port

2.Smoking on ship

3.7 day dress code

1.What grocery stores are between Panama City(where mom's friend lives) and port.

There is a Publix not far from the ship. Use this map from Dave's site to see local businesses including grocery stops.
Space Coast Businesses

2.Smoking on ship - smoking is not allowed in any of the staterooms, but is allowed on the verandas. Smoking is allowed up on the public decks including deck 4. Smoking is not allowed inside except for some portions of beat street (with time restrictions - I believe it is smoke-free until 9 pm). As always please be considerate of your neighbors.

3.7 day dress code - On a 7 day you will have 1 formal night, 1 semi-formal night, 1 Tropical/Mexicali night (shorts at dinner are ok on this night), and the rest will be casual (resort casual - no shorts or jeans please).

Hope this helps!

I am fairly certain there is no smoking around the Mickey Pool area...

thanks:) all the info is helping and on the hunt for more:)

Do you realize how far Panama City and the port are? Panama City is nowhere near Port Canaveral. It is in the panhandle and the port in the central east coast. There will be plenty of grocery stores between the 2 and I see some has given you one that is close to the port.

Talking Hands: My mom's friend lives in Panama City so I'm using that as a reference point and they are meeting there before hand.

time for a few more question:)

1.How soon should they book? (next November is the target date)

2.Dining rotation for 2 women without kids

3.How soon should they leave Panama City for port

4.Excersions(7 day)

The other questions can be better answered by more experienced DISBoarders, but I can tell you that Panama City is over 400 miles from Port Canaveral, so they should plan on arriving the day before their cruise leaves and getting a hotel/motel room for the night. The last thing they want to do is board the ship exhausted from a 6-10 hour drive.

1.How soon should they book? (next November is the target date) Book now! Prices will only go up! If you book through Dreams Unlimited (who sponsors this board) they'll keep an eye on pricing for them and will reduce if needed.

2.Dining rotation for 2 women without kids? Most likely they will be in the Lumiere, Animators Palatte, Parrot Cay (or LAP) rotation.

3.How soon should they leave Panama City for port? As someone already pointed out - with a far drive you are betting coming in the day/night before. A number of hotels in the area have plans where you can leave your car there (and not pay the port parking fees) and then take a shuttle over. We've stayed at the Raddisson twice and like it a lot.

4.Excersions(7 day)? This one is not so easy until you tell us a few things. Eastern or Western? What kind of things are they looking for? Beach excursions, snorkeling, sightseeing? There are a lot to choose from.

just talked to mom and here's more info

the internity is up in the air since they are still deciding which one(along with which line)

I did get asked the passport or picture id question

They did talk about finding a hotel room at port the night before

I did get asked the passport or picture id question
We use passports, but a picture id will work with a raised seal birth certificate.

They did talk about finding a hotel room at port the night before. Getting a hotel room for the night before will definately help them to get a fresh start to their cruise.

As for deciding which line etc. I suggest you check out cruisecritic.com They have a number of forums for all the different lines and different ports of call. I have found them to be friendly, but not nearly as friendly or informative as the DIS. What you are getting there is a variety, but it might answer some of their questions.

I picked mom's brain again and got more

1.She metioned sightseeing excersions

2.They are booking in either November or december of this year for next year
