More questions: fireworks cruises and castle

Okay, we are leaving until December and I am still planning. The plan has been to try for an Illuminations cruise and hopefully share it with another family but there is a thread discussing the noise and someone mentioned the wishes cruise is more quiet. My 3.5 year old hates loud noises and if they are loud enough, he will cry until they go away. So, I'm thinking maybe I should go for Wishes cruise instead. Can you see the fireworks as well from the boat as you can standing on mainstreet? Is the cost the same for the Wishes cruise? Is it as difficult to get ressies for?

Also, I've only been to WDW once, back in '92. I don't think we even went close to the castle. We have 2 boys. They will be 6 and 4 at the time. I haven't even considered a ps for the castle because we don't have any princess loving girls. Can you go and glance in and see Gus and Jacque and such, without a ps, or is the only way to even see inside if you have a ps? Is the Castle something I really need to see or do you think I won't regret seeing inside.

Waiting for the answers to your questions. I came here to ask the difference between Wishes and Illuminations Cruise. Illuminations is my favorite night show but I booked the Wishes cruise and I am not sure if it was a mistake. Hopefully some people will chime in that have done one or the other and help us both out!

Sorry, I'm really not able to help with the cruise part as I'm taking my first this June. But Cinderella Castle is probably my favorite spot in the world. I highly recommend eating there for a character breakfast/lunch or regular dinner. It is pretty darn expensive, and the wait can be fairly long though. You could probably sneak in the lobby if you walk in with the air of "knowing what you're doing" and going to meet your party or something. The only sight is a ornate waiting room with the figurines of Gus and Jaques hidden on one wall, a magnificent throne, and sometimes Cinderella herself. But the dining room is pretty much off limits.

Also, there is a great Art of Disney store built in to castle, accessible from the walkway leading straight through the castle. But if you miss either of these, you'll still be fine. I would suggest getting close to the castle just for the experience though. Hope this helps! And good luck getting replies about the cruise.
