More National or Alamo ?'s

Does National and Alamo offer the same full size car models? I have a ressise on the ER w/National for a full size, but with DH being 6'5" he is not comfy in some models. Any sightings on th ER lately? Do you have to shuttle to either car rental location?

First: both Alamo and National are at the airport, makes life easy.
Second: They have for full size cars: Buick Centurys, Impalas, Malibus, Monte Carlos and last time we were there, Intrepids.
Hopefully, others can add to this list.

Alamo usually gets the cars from National. The newest cars will usually be put with National. After they have been driven a while they move over to the more budget minded Alamo. Alamo markets to vacationers while National generally markets to business travellers who generally have higher standards and who are generally paying higher corporate rates as well. So basically the cars are the same to answer your question.

Actually that is not exactly true. National and Alamo are separate companies owned by the same corporation.
They both lease cars and have milage liimits on them before they are returned. I have rented from both and none of the times have I received a car with more than 2000 miles on them. Once from Alamo I had a car with 500 miles on it and once from National I had one with 1500 miles on it. The other times various usage, but, never over 2000 miles.
However, the statement that they cater to different markets is quite true. However, there is very little truth to quality. Both have their positives and negatives and the prices are running just about equal.

2,000 or 20,000? I've rented cars from National with around 20,000 miles before. Our Camry last month had 14,000 miles.

Debbie, they remove the cars after 35000 miles. I personally have never had a car with more than 2000 miles on it.
