MORE MUMMY INFO PLEASE! Dueling Dragons, too!

well, i usually close my eyes for the first four times i do the ride, after that i leave them open...........

and if i freak out and wet my pants, that's okay.....people just think it is water from the ride.......

I'm terribly scared of rollercoasters. I can handle speed, I just can't handle stomach-feeling ache. I rode Manta last year, and ehh, it was okay. I'm being honest. If you don't like the stomach drop feeling, you most likely won't want to ride Manta. I went to Seaworld last year and the pretzel loop is really, the scariest thing in the planet. You are literally dropping so fast, head first, AND backwards. My stomach was out of my stomach. I couldn't do it again, and I rode it once. I chickened out of Kraken. I'm going to IOA in two weeks and I'm not sure if I want to ride the Dueling Dragons. I don't care about if its awesome, cool, amazing. I want to know if it's scary. Can someone please answer me? Quick? :scared:

I don't think its scary...its fun. You're asking a very subjective and nearly impossible question to answer because it depends on the person. Like I said...coasters aren't scary to me but others might have a problem.

Thanks Austin! You really know your stuff! I'm going to have to look up those coaster terms to see what I'm in for! Maybe some day I'll ask you about the Incredible Hulk coaster...
You might want to check this website out. I think it will greatly help you in your coaster quest. BTW...the "dropping stomach feeling" is called air time by coaster lovers. Its what coaster fans live for and many coasters are judged on their ability to deliver air time to riders. Check this out:

LOVE coasters - have been on most of them at Disney/Universal/SeaWorld/Busch Gardens.
That being said ........ I really didn't enjoy Dueling Dragons. I went right before they stopped dueling & while I enjoyed the ride, both me & my hubby had the worst headache after the ride - so bad we both had to sit for about 5 minutes to recover. :scared:

Hulk is great - it does "shoot" you out of the launch but it's no way near as bad as Rock N' Roller Coaster. It's very smooth, but it does have loops. It's good if you want to try a loop coaster 'cause it's a short ride & it gets you over the first big hill quickly (unlike Kraken, where you have a while to think when you're riding up the first hill, & tons of loops). Hope this helps. :goodvibes

Just FYI- it's not called Dueling Dragons anymore, it's Dragon Challenge now :)

If you don't like the stomach rising/falling sensation, don't go on the Chinese Fireball (red track), as it has a hill that is designed to induce that feeling. The other track has a barrel roll at that point instead.

Granted, it's hard to find a coaster that doesn't give you that feeling anywhere. I don't think Dragon Challenge is as intense as Manta, though. It certainly doesn't seem scary to me, but I'm a thrill junkie and love that stomach feeling!

I wonder if the OP ever rode these rides?

I will only add that I'm not a big coaster fanatic but I adore the Mummy. It's an easy ride to love. :)
