First off thank you to everyone who answers questions and adds anything to the posts..it's much appreciated. I've gotten many tips from this board!

Now to the questions

Now that RSR is connected to the other FS should there be another plan of action so we actually get to ride? Go early? We are doing both parks in 1 day. Crazy I know, but that is all we have time for. Trying to cover as much as we can without killing ourselves. So should we start at CA? We plan on getting there before the gates open, but I think it's early hours for CA.

Are there any *must* see rides or shows we should do? I'm going with another adult and 2 teenagers(15).

How about cell phone charging? Did I read there are charging lockers? Are the conveniently located? Are there other outlets around the park? I was going to buy extra little charger that give your battery some life. But do I need it? I would have to buy 3 of them.

Do we need bathing suits for either park? Not for me but for the teenagers?

Last question? I tried to buy my tickets online to save time at the gate. $450!! But I couldn't because I was paying with $50 Disney GC so it wasn't accepted. Can I order over the phone? Maybe pay for one ticket at a time? Would that work? If I can do that how do I get my tickets? Email? Mail? Will call?

Thanks in advance!

Are you going soon (summer hours)? This week, we were able to get RSR FP at 8:15 on Monday (DCA early entry day) without waiting in line; return time was a couple hours out [can't remember exactly how long], and today at 8:30 (DL early entry day) without waiting in line for 10:30 return time. If you must ride RSR, yes, I would start at DCA. We waited about 15 minutes both times to get on the ride using FP.

I don't have teenagers, but I'd think Screamin' and ToT in DCA and Indy, Space Mtn, and Star Tours in DL would be must-dos with teenagers. All except ToT are must dos for my 10- and 7-yr-olds. ToT is a must NOT do! :rotfl: For shows, with only 1 day to do both parks I'd definitely skip Aladdin as it takes a big chunk out of your day.

We have not used the charging lockers (I believe these are only in DCA so far) but we do turn off our wifi and that helps a lot to save battery life. I would buy portable chargers if we couldn't count on taking a hotel break every afternoon when we are able to charge our phones. Teens may want to go off on their own so having charged phones is fairly necessary (though somehow we all managed to find one another pre-cell phones!)

The only wet rides are Splash Mtn and Grizzly River Run. You can avoid getting wet pretty well on Splash by sitting in the back and keeping your feet up (including for the rebound splashes); GRR is less predictable, but unless it's cold outside even getting drenched shouldn't warrant changing into swimsuits unless someone is very particular about having dry feet for the rest of the day. :) There are free temporary lockers next to GRR so you could pack flip flops in your bag and put regular shoes in the locker if you wear socks & shoes. DH just puts his feet up on the ledge in the middle of the raft and his feet usually stay dry.

We have APs so I'm not sure how regular tickets work, but we do have to go to the ticket booth when we renew our lapsed APs and I pay with gcs. They're pretty efficient - even with a new CM learning how to do APs and showing up 20 min before park opening, we were in DCA within 25 minutes. Regular tickets should be even easier if you have to end up buying them at the ticket booth.

I'm assuming you weren't using the Disney website to buy your tickets? They accept Disney GC's. You should just be able to enter your GC as a payment method, and then pay the rest with another form of accepted payment. To avoid an additional charge, you need print the tickets at home and bring them with you to the park (or you can store the barcode on a smartphone). You will be able to exchange them at the turnstile for a regular tickets.

Now that RSR is connected to the other FS should there be another plan of action so we actually get to ride? Go early?
It depends on whether of not your one day is a EMH day for DCA and whether you want to ride TSMM as well. If you want to ride TSMM, I would go there first (because there is no FP for that ride), then head back to get the FP for RSR. If it's an EMH morning at DCA (and you don't have access) it means the line for TSMM will already be formed by the time you get to the ride. At that point, I think it's a toss up whether you go to TSMM first or get the RSR FP first. If the RSR FP times don't work out for you, you could always try the single rider line.

Just be flexible and understand that things might not go as planned. Some of the major rides (like Indy and RSR) are prone to going down. So keep that in mind as you tour the parks.

Are there any *must* see rides or shows we should do? I'm going with another adult and 2 teenagers(15).
What kind of rides do the people in your party like? If they're into thrill rides, then I would recommend things like Space, Indy, BTMRR, Matterhorn, and Star Tours in DL and Screamin, ToT, and RSR in DCA. In terms of the show, I think Aladdin is pretty impressive but with only one day, I would probably opt to forgo anything that involves along time commitment (same reason I would forgo WoC, fireworks, and Fantasmic!).

How about cell phone charging? Did I read there are charging lockers? Are the conveniently located? Are there other outlets around the park?
The lockers in DL are currently closed, so there are no charging lockers inside DL at the moment. They're slated to re-open in "Fall" but no clear idea when that will be. There are outlets, but they might not be the easiest to use and there aren't a lot of them (not to mention that if there is one with easy access, there is probably someone already using it). Sometimes you can use them, but I have seen security ask folks to please unplug their devices (this usually happens when waiting for the device to charge means blocking a walkway or some other access point).

I was going to buy extra little charger that give your battery some life. But do I need it? I would have to buy 3 of them.
It depends on what kind of phone you have and how much you do with it. If you're going to play games or constantly be on the phone while at the park, then I think you might need a charger. If you aren't going to be heavily using it, then you might be okay without.

Do we need bathing suits for either park? Not for me but for the teenagers?
There are no swimming pools inside either park. I suppose you could wear it under your clothes on the water rides, but you'd still end up with a wet t-shirt and shorts/pants though. You cannot walk around Disneyland in a bathing suit.

Three words you need to know: Single.Rider.Lines. (aka SRL) Your party is all old enough, so use them! You can all still wait in line together, and sometimes if you are lucky you will be in the same ride vehicle, but it's not guaranteed.

I am a traditionalist, so for me starting at DL is a must. I am assuming you will not have early entry, so it might depend on which day you are going. The must do rides at DL for your age group would be Space, Star Tours, BTMRR, Indy, Pirates, HM, and Splash. Maybe Matterhorn. Space, ST, BTMRR are fast pass; Indy, Splash and Matterhorn have SRLs. Pirates and HM you will have to wait in line, but lines are usually 20min or less, walk on if you do before 10am.

After you have knocked out DL, hop to DCA. Must do's there: RSR, ToT, TSMM, Soarin', Screamin', Grizzly. No fast passes for TSMM, so that will be your longest line of the day, probably 45min? RSR you can do SRL. Go once in the daytime and once at night if you can. You should be able to grab fast passes for the other rides. Time it out so you grab a fast pass, ride something, then go grab a different fast pass, etc. Might be a good idea to have a FP runner for this.

If they are running (and YOU are still running :goodvibes), then end your day back at DL with fireworks and the 2nd showing of fantasmic!

If you plan on taking a lot of pictures or using apps with your phone, then you will need a charger. I bought my DH an Anker portable charger and it is amazing. It will charge an iPhone 4 times over before running out of juice. I think I only paid like $25 for it on Amazon.

No bathing suits needed. I have heard that they have free lockers at GRR so you can store anything you don't want to get wet.

Disney Giftcards: were you trying to use just one or multiple GCs when buying tickets? I've heard that you cannot use mulitple GCs online but you can at the ticket windows. If you want to pre-purchase and still use a GC then you can go to a Disney Store and they can put all the GCs onto one so you can use it online. I don't know if they sell one day tickets at the Disney Store, but you could check on that too.

Have a great time!!!!
