My sister wants to purchase but she thinks that you would get a better deal when you visit the parks and talk to someone at the kiosk. Do you know if they are offering anything else besides the $15 off per point for VGC??? She is not in the system yet and wants to know if she should wait until she makes a trip out there?

No, I don't think so. Main place I hear of people getting extra-good deals is when they are on a Disney Cruise. But those cruises cost quite a bit!

That said, it's fun to visit the DVC office there, meet some fun people (well, at least our guide is fun, not sure about the others!), etc, so there's nothing *wrong* with waiting until you're there.

It all depends on your comfort level, but I personally prefer to do everything over the phone. On the phone, it is harder for the guides to use "high pressure" sales tactics.

A few years ago it was reported that DVC reps at DLR were authorized to provide additional incentives. I benefitted from the difference when buying an add-on at DLR about 2 years ago. At a time when WDW offered "either/or" incentives I was offered "all/and": discounted rate, developer points, current year points (bankable) and a pair of APs for either WDW or DLR.

Not sure if the deals are still "better" there than elsewhere.

Our guide was the exact opposite of "high pressure". When we did our tour earlier this month out guide explined everything, took us on the tour of the models, then packed up all the paperwork in a bag, called the shuttle for us then hurried us out the door. It was very strange, since I was ready to buy that day. Maybe they just wanted to go home. :confused3

I was told that was stopping once GCV went on sale at DL. And from my experience it has.

My guide was really low pressure as well, but I have read stories on here about "pushy" guides.
