Any opinions on which would be more kid friendly? I'm inclined to think POLY. My brother, wife, sister-in-law and 2 daughters, 12 and 5, will stay for one night only, before the early CRT ressies I got for them on Dec 2. They want to stay on monorail, as they're there for such a short time, and have stayed at CR last time.
Any thoughts?

I'd recommend the Polynesian. We've stayed there several times (with children), and visited and dined several times at the Grand Floridian. While the GF is a beautiful resort, it always seems more "stuffy" and formal to us.

A 12-year-old girl would never want to LEAVE the Grand Floridian. It is like a giant doll's house - so exquisite and with 2 pools, 2 great character meals, Tea at Garden View Lounge, Gasparilla's Grill and Games and even "My first Facial", "My First Manicure, etc. at the spa (if they have time) I just think the GF would be splendid! My daughter has never stayed at Poly but she's stayed at GF 5 times and I'm having to "twist" her arm to go with me to AKL next month.;)
Don't think you can go wrong with either resort...gosh, I feel for those parents when they tell the kids it's time to go!

Polynesian...hands down!!!

1st...it has a sooo much more laid back & friendly atmosphere.

2nd...the theming is much more kid friendly...more fun than serious...the tikis, etc.

3rd...compare the theme pools...springs -v- volcano pool

4th...Poly guest rooms have a more relaxed, fun feel

5th....IMO, a lot more kids at the Poly in general
