I still don't buy it. The language in the blurb is not typical Canon.

From Canon USA: This APS-C size sensor (22.5 x 15.0mm) has the same 3:2 ratio as film cameras, enabling an effective angle of view that is 1.6x the normal EF Lens focal length.

From Gizmodo: The 22.5 x 15mm sensor size adds an effective 1.6x increase to the focal length of EF lenses, extending reach at the telephoto end.

As we all know, there is no "extending reach" with a 1.6X (actually 0.6) sensor, and Canon does not present it in that manner.

I agree EVERYTHING reported until Canon makes its announcement is just a RUMOR.

I am sure that a few of the rumors will get a few of the details correct, but not because of any "internal memo" or "reliable source." They are guessing, just as we all are.

Well think of it this way, at least you Canon users are getting rumors....Where is my D300, D3H, and others .....come on I have some serious NAS and I want to upgrade to a new camera

I just found some recent info at the link below posted just yesterday.
Seems that Best Buy has it in their computer system and has listed a date of Sept 2 for availability.

I was going to get the 30D but I think I can wait a couple of weeks to see if this comes to fruition
