First I would like to thank everyone for help on my previous post! I'm rethinking my plans.

I have another question(s). For first time cruisers, would we be better off doing the 4 night cruise or 7 night cruise? My real conserns are how we are going to handle being on a ship especially my kids, ages 7 and 2 at the time we are planning to go.(Nov. 2005) I also worry that if we do 3 or 4 nights we will feel like it was a waste and not enough time. On the other hand, what if we hate it and can't wait to get off!!LOL Also, it being Nov. aren't we taking a chance on the weather? If we do the 7 day it will be the eastern cruise. What's the weather like then?

go for the 7 day ...you won't regret it...weather is great in November...

I think a 4 day is great for a 1st timer. That way if cruising is not for you, you're not stuck on a ship for a full week.

The 4 day is much better than the 3 day because of th day at sea. That what seems to keep the 4 day from feeling waaaaayyyy too short.

Our first cruises on the Magic were before the 7 day started. The only thing wrong was that it was too short. I'd do the 7 day in a heartbeat...but if you're not sure with kids, etc....go for the shorter. Next year, you can do 7 day. November is a great time.

Our first cruise was in November 2000 and I booked a 3 day land/4 day cruise for that reason -- I was not sure how we would all react to being out at sea.

My biggest concerns were how my daughter and I would do with seasickness (I wasn't worried about my husband -- he's sailed on tall ships), and how I would feel when I couldn't see land anymore.

Well, we did great. I never even took any medicine. We loved it so much, we booked a 7-day right away.

My point being -- you may love it that much, too, but I think a 4-day cruise is a perfect introduction to a newcomer. If you really don't like it, it's not that long -- if you love it, then you'll want to sail again!

I would do the 7 day, you get so much more out of it and the 3/4 is too short. Our first cruise was a 7 day eastern and it was the greatest time. I was very worried about my DW, but she settled in and had a great time. We are planning our next DCL trip for January 06 and are even taking an RCI cruise this coming January. The ports are better on the longer trips and the weather will be fine. You are beyond hurricane season and it will be very warm. The kids will love it and won't want to get off. My DS6 didn't and it was his first trip.

I say go with the 7 and have fun.

Do the 7 day, remember you aren't stuck on the ship for 7 days..you get off in the ports, and they are excellent places to have some fun. You and the kids will love them.
