More FD PIN codes to be mailed out in the next few days...

My in-laws got the pin but we didn't. In-laws can't go this year, what is the possibility that we can use the pin code?

A CM just told my sister that she could pay for the room for us and use the PIN for us. I am not sure every CM will let that happen though. I am keeping that as a backup plan if we don't get our own PIN or a general free dining promo.

I must have missed some things - when you mention general free dining promo - this is outside the one they already just released for Sept? Thanks!

Yes, I am keeping fingers crossed for the general public discount for the fall. Last year Disney released one that matched the PIN free dining. We are hoping for November. If they offer the general public free dining, it will likely start in July or August. I think it was released around July 9th last year for Oct, Nov, Dec dates.

I called a few days ago inquiring "What a PIN" was. The CM was kind enough to check my name and said she didn't see a PIN tied to it. I didn't think to try by DH or DD name. I may try that.

When I went to Disney World in 2011, I find an ad/notice either on this board or Disney's web site, that offered the free dining plan. I already had a reservation, I called and the special was applied to my existing reservation.

For many of us that didn't get a PIN we're hoping for the public sale.

That won't work. The person that the pin was sent to has to show ID at check in, so your in-laws would have to go on the trip The pin is for the person who it addressed to with their address. I wish they could be transferrrable. Then I could use the one's my DD gets.
 
So some of you have just called Disney reservations and asked if there is a pincode associated with your account?:confused3

I did....but no pin. Some Cm's are very kind and helpful on the phone when you ask them about pins. Others are not so helpful.

1) In-laws got pin. We didn't.
2) We booked over the phone with the in-laws, who also booked (put down 200-which we paid initially).
3) Once you have your room # associated with the FD pin under your name, it becomes a true reservation for you.
4) In-Laws cancel their trip at 50 days out.
5) We call in to check our status... doesn't change (CM says your room has FD attached and it's in my name, so when showing my ID it was still me.)
6) We get free dining using their pin code and they don't go.
7) We all win- we got our FD, 200 down payment for their room back.

* Special note: this all happened on accident as they were planning on coming. MIL broke her ankle and was told she shouldn't go.
 
I need that pin for fall so bad right now. Hubby said we can go if we get that promotion.

It figures...I in the past always got a pin in the mail or email, now when I need one I get nothing!!

Yeah, we were freaking out when we found out the doctor wouldn't let her go. I actually called THREE times to double check. Every CM said our reservation was still fine. We got there and there were no questions asked.
