1.) Is the dining plan pricing the same for DVC as it would be for a resort guest?
2.) Which DVC property would you recommend for a family of 4/5 (2 adults, DD5, DS2.5 and DH will join us for two nights mid vacation). We want to be close to MK or DHS but that's really our only request. I don't care at all what the room looks like, what the property perks are, etc. We'll spend most of our time in the parks.
3.) We can use Disney transportation, right? I assume there will be bus stops at all DVC properties?
Thanks a bunch!

1) Same price
2) I like the Boardwalk/Beach Club area. Short boat ride to Epcot and DHS. I have not stayed at any properties near MK yet so i don't have any suggestions for that area.
3) Bus transportation provided to all parks/resorts.

HI VERMONTS A GREAT PLACE WE GO THERE AS MUCH AS WE CAN WOODSTOCK AREA AND STOWE AREA. GREAT COFFEE. I BRING GM COFFEE HOME. ANYWAYS. THE TRANS PORTATION GOES THRU ALL THE DVC RESORTS. SSR AND OKW THE BUSES GO RIGHT THRU RESORT. THERE ARE ABOUT 4 OR 5 STOPS AT EACH OF THOSE 2 RESORTS. THE OTHERS BASICALLY HAVE A BUS AREA TO WAIT. SOUNDS LIKE YOUR BEST BET FOR CLOSENESS WOULD BE BW OR BC TO BE CLOSE TO DHS AND EPCOT AND FROM THERE YOU CAN TAKE BUS OR MONORAIL FROM EPCOT TO MK. BLT IS CLOSEST TO MK AND MONORAIL GOES RIGHT BY BLT SO YOU CAN GET TO EPCOT WALK THRU EPCOT AND TAKE THE BOAT FROM BACK OF EPCOT TO DHS. OKW USES THE LEAST NUMBER OF POINTS AND ITS NICE SETTING AND BUSES GO RIGHT THRU RESORT.. YOUR A SHORT BUS RIDE FROM MK AND DHS AND EVERYTHING ELSE.

For 2010, it seems that DVC members are not paying the seasonal charge for the DDP, so I believe its $41.99/adult, and $10.99/child (?) This may or may not continue into the future.

BLT is a great resort, close to MK, and an easy walk or monorail ride. There are buses to all the other parks, or, if you want, you can take the monorail to Epcot by transferring at the TTC.

For DHS, it would be BWV or BCV (with BWV being closer if you want to walk it). They have boats that go to Epcot and DHS (no buses), and buses to all the other parks.

If it were me, with little ones, on the DDP, I would go with BLT. Not only can you get to MK quickly, you have more options for dining with its connection to CR. At BWV, there is really no quick service place to eat (BLT has the Contempo Cafe at CR, just a 5 minute walk over the skybride).

And, if you are at BLT, you can easily get to both the Poly and GF, by monorail, for other food options.

The pool here has a kids play area and a walk in entrance--nice for young children.

Good luck!

VWL (Wilderness Lodge) and BLT (Bay Lake Tower at the contemporary) are the only DVC resorts close to the Magic Kingdom. That being said, being farther away doesn't necessarily mean distant. All DVC resorts are "near" all parks with a quick Disney bus ride.

It looks like you will mostlikely be interested in a studio stay for your family. That means it will be much like a basic hotel room with the addition of a kitchenette. Most (AKV, VWL, BLT, SSR, BCV, BWV) will have a queen sized bed plus a full size pull out sofa and a Pack N Play for the crib set. Only OKW will have 2 queen sized beds plus a Pack N Play for bedding.

All DVC resorts have excellent Disney transportation, but if you are dragging a stroller along and plan to mostly visit the Magic Kingdom, I guess I'd go for one of the MK area resorts of BLT or VWL. VWL will have boat transportation to the MK, and BLT is close enough to just stroll over yourself on the sidewalk. You could also take the monorail from there, but getting to the monorail is likely to take longer than walking to the park.
