More dining plan days than ticket days?

If I wanted to have 7 days of a dining plan but I am only buying 5 days worth of park tickets is that possible? Or can you only buy the dining plan for as many days as you have park tickets?

The dining plan is based off of the nights you spend in a Disney hotel. It has nothing to do with your park tickets and the dining plan must be for your entire stay. If you are staying at the hotel for 10 nights it will be for all 10 nights you can’t say you only want it for 7 of the 10 nights. Also everyone in your room reservations must be be on it.

As shared by @LoveDaisy, the DDP is based on the number of nights you stay in a Disney Resort. You must purchase it for the number of nights on your reservation. It will be valid from 12:00AM on check-in day to 11:59PM on checkout day.

Ok so if I am checking in on a Sunday and checking out on a Sunday, it is 6 nights but 7 days. So I would get 6 days worth of dining credits?

Checking in on a Sunday and checking out on a Sunday is 7 nights sleeping at the resort. The dining plan would be for 7 nights of dining credits (combination of TS, QS and snacks depending on which plan).
