Sorry for all the questions, but you guys provide great answers!

I got the Kodak DX3900 for Mother's day (yeah!). Anyway, it came with a 8MB Compact Flash card. I have been playing with the camera, learning to use it but I want more storage space on the card before our next Disney trip! On my first quesion about digital cameras here, someone recommended buying memory cards from www.newegg.com. I checked that out and wow! the prices are great compared to everywhere else. My question is: am I sacrificing anything for that price? Is the quality the same? Are some brands better than others? THey have a Mr. Flash 128MB Compact Flash memory card for $44.00 (Type 1 - what does that mean?)

Also, where do you guys get your digital pictures printed? I sent my first ones to walmart.com - 26 cents each. Would I get better prints from other places that cost more?

Thanks for the great help I get from these threads!

Hi Jackie!

Glad you're having fun with your new digital camera. Aren't they just the greatest?? I don't have an answer to your first question, but I agree that you will want a LOT more storage for Disney World pics. Once you get there, you just can't help but go shutter-happy! ;)

As for printing...I upload mine to www.shutterfly.com and order them. They are quite a bit more expensive than some other sites (49 cents each), but I have found that Shutterfly's quality is well worth it. I have also ordered from Wal-Mart, and while the pictures turned out fine, I could tell a difference in the quality compared to the pics I had ordered from Shutterfly. I actually have 3 of my Shutterfly pictures (of New England lighthouses) framed and most people think that they are professional photos! LOL :D (and, mind you, these pics were taken using a VERY BASIC beginner's digital camera...it doesn't even have a zoom! lol) Shutterfly does often have special offers and discounts (I know they're having a Father's Day promotion to get up to 30% off your order), so that helps a little bit. They also have ways for you to earn free prints from time to time. In fact, I just received an e-mail offer from them giving me 20 free prints in appreciation for recently placing an order with them (at least that's what it said, and the order I'd placed wasn't a huge one either...in fact it was 29 prints, 20 of which were free from a previous offer! lol) I usually get my prints within 5 days of ordering them, and I have never had a problem with this company, so I would highly recommend trying them out.

Enjoy your camera! I've fallen in love with the digital world and am now looking to upgrade myself---This time I want a camera WITH a zoom! :D

Yes... we ended up taking about 750 shots on our trip last month!! The great thing about digital is that you don't have to get them ALL developed... just the ones you want! If you want to view all of them, one idea is to put them into a slide show. :)

As for ordering prints... here are a few websites you can try. Most of these have some type of offer to get the first few prints free. It is nice because you can see the quality of their prints before spending a lot of money.

www.webphotos.com (My personal favorite! - 20 free prints)

www.dotphoto.com (30 free prints - signed up but haven't ordered my free ones yet)

www.imagestation.com (15 free prints)

www.photoaccess.com (10 free prints - haven't tried this one yet, either)

www.shutterfly.com (good results, but not sure if they offer free prints or not)

www.ofoto.com (another good source)

If I think of any others, I'll post again. One site to avoid... FotoTime. We were very disappointed with their prints.

Enjoy your new digicam! We love ours! :)
