More Changes Coming?

UGH! I wish they would change it to 90 days and leave it there. I think it's ridiculous to have to make reservations 6 months out - especially since we hardly ever plan our trips more than 3-4 months out at the most. People could still obsessively plan, but it would make it easier having park hours, EMH and crowd levels when doing so.

One of the reasons I think the system is a mess is that people have 6 months to book, obsess, change, change back, obsess some more, read reviews, panic, change again, take a poll, look at pictures, change again, check park hours, finalize, obsess some more, and make one more change before they go. If they could only do this for 3 months as opposed to 6 it may be better for the rest of us. :rotfl:

this is how I understand it also. I'm still curious about the window "growing" back to 180 days, though, and how that will work, we'll likely be in that timeframe somewhere.

I seriously doubt it will grow back in the end.

Much like that pinky finger of my shop teacher, Mr. Campbell --- I think that once the head has been lopped off the ADR beast.. it won't grow back.

I think that Disney will announce that due to Guest Feedback and to streamline operations (ie: get rid of excess ADR/WDW Dining staff) .. they will leave the window at 90 days.

That's my theory.. and I'm sticking to it.

That would be fine by me!! So would 180, either way, but sticking to one or the other will sure make it simpler!!!

Oh, and about the finger, ewwww!! LOL!!

It is a rumour, not officially Disney policy. Until it is people should just take it with a grain of salt.

WALT DISNEY WORLD

Temporary ADR Booking Window Changes
During a system upgrade (which will include the addition of on-line Advanced Dining Reservation booking), the reservation system windows for booking dining, recreation and tours will be altered. Beginning July 31, reservations for dining, recreation and tours can only be made through January 25, 2009. Beginning October 24, reservations will once again be accepted for the normal 180-day window. Please note that reservations for Victoria & Albert's, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Chef Mickey's will retain their 180-day booking window throughout this period, even after July 31.

Cool! Looks like it's the official word finally. I was expecting that we'd get it soon. Where did you find this?

I hope it does go back to 90 days. We often don't plan 6 months in advance, especially for our SWW trips, and as such, have yet to be able to eat at Le Cellier because it books so far in adavance.

I agree. I start planning our trips WAY in advance :surfweb: but, I like to be spontaneous at times too and planning where I will eat 6 months from now is just no fun to me. That is one reason we didn't care for the DDP. We go to Disney for the parks not the food, so it really isn't a huge priority for us.

I wish this 90-day window was not temporary. I would like to see Disney go back to this permanantly.
