No, I'm not sure if it was food poisoning--I've eaten there before (the same sandwich) & had no problems. So it could have just been me.

No, I don't want to go to jury duty. NY has a telephone stand by system, you call in the night before to find out if you have to go in. So I hate the feeling of not being able to figure out what I'm doing each day. And I really don't want to get on a jury. Just want to go in (if I have to), and get out.

I don't know when I'll get to go back. Our April trip got canceled because of Ryan being away for his new job training and now it looks like August isn't going to pan out either. Ryan can only get days off at the end of the month and that would have the kids missing the first three days of school. While I think it's stupid that they go back for three half days right before Labor Day weekend, they are all going to new schools this year and I think being there the first few days will be important. Ugh I am so tired of being responsible- it's really not much fun at all.

While I think it's stupid that they go back for three half days right before Labor Day weekend, they are all going to new schools this year and I think being there the first few days will be important. Ugh I am so tired of being responsible- it's really not much fun at all.

Hey Becky. I'm sorry your trip plans got messed up. That does suck. And I agree it's silly to send them back for 3 days and then have a long week-end.

But I'd probably do the same as you and not want them to miss the first few days at a new school. Being responsible does suck sometimes.

Well, your going to have to keep waiting. Ruben was being the responsible one today. He was supposed to be off but they called and asked if he could cover a shift so he's working now. Sucks cause we were all excited to go to the movies, but you know a whole day of over time is not something we can afford to pass up.

So we're still waiting. We'll still go, it just won't be till later in the week or even next week end.

Beth, do you know anything about Hermosa Beach area?? My MIL and her mother are going to CA for a wedding and they have a bit of extra time but know absolutely nothing about the area. I said I'd ask you if you know anything.

I feel dumb for buying the AP last fall thinking that I'd use it for two other trips. I could have saved quite a bit and just bought a hopper pass. Oh well, lesson learned I suppose.

At least I'm not alone in my thinking that it would be hard for them to not be there since it's a new school(s).

sorry that you had to miss your movie but I hear you on the overtime. Ryan had signed up to try to work on July 4. We didn't have any real plans and it was $50 for signing up, minimum 3 or 4 hours paid if you did work, and that 3 or 4 hours was paid at doubletime. Plus your normal holiday pay. Way too hard to say no to, so I hear you.

I don't think they've really looked into it too much at all. The whole thing seems kind of last minute, I think they are leaving this weekend. Maybe I'll do some research online and email it to her, she's kind of a technophobe.
