More attacks on americans

Burning an american's car! What do they think will come out of it? They are acting like terrorists. I am ashamed for the Italians... I decend from Italy and right now decend is an applicable word.

First, let me say I am so sorry this is happening to you... and I am sending you big hugs over there in Italy and will pray that these maniacs stop before someone really gets hurt...I wonder where the police are when this is happening or do the MP's get involved..

The second part of my comment is this......my heritage is Italian and French......I had already told my husband that I was giving up on my French side.......but now you tell me the Italians are acting so hateful... it breaks my heart....Italians are usually very warm and loving, at least that is what my Mother's family was like.. I am horrified for you... please stay safe and know we are praying for you........Hugs.

Actually I was going to use the term terrorism, but wasn't quite sure if it quite fit...

This is from dictionary.com:
The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.

Sure sounds like terrorism to me.

I'd just like to say that no one should blame a "people" for these events, but persons who made stupid decisions. We cannot and should not blame our descendants and our cultures on the bad choices of individuals.

Debi my thoughts and prayers are with you and all the service families abroad.

I do not understand this hate Americans. This past week a hockey team from Brockton Mass had a friendship game in Canada. The children who played on this team were booed, flipped the finger and called names. How can people do this to children.

These countries are suppose to be our friends. I wonder what effect it will make on todays children. These are sad times we are living in. Hard to believe there is s much hatred in the world. We are a country who cares about the humanity of others, yet we are hated.


You and your family our in my prayers. Makes you wonder about visiting other countries. We are stll planning to visit in September though.

Well said Robin. We had a security brief last night and basically was told what you said here. There are millions and millions of people in Italy and for the most part they are like MackeyMouse said, very warm and loving, however there are the extremists, most are the younger generation and they have definite ideas and opinions. We were told that they are not trying to attack americans directly, but attack "symbols of america". Regardless of what they are calling it, it feels personal to most of us living here and whether the attacks are against us or our property it is still personal.

I know a few very, very nice Italians. One family we have known since the first time we lived in Italy and have been friends with them for 10 years. We love them like family and they love us, we would do anything for each others families. So I know it isn't everyone. It is a few bad apples making things difficult at this time. We pray for a quick resolution to this war for many reasons, one is so these people will concentrate there efforts on others and leave the americans alone.
