The saga continues. . .

Okay, to bring you up to date:

January 7th - called Guest Services to renew AP, computers down, no luck
January 8th - called Guest Services again, was told had to renew with MS
January 10th - called Member Services, they took info, call back in 2 days
January 13th - called MS again, said they would call later in day
January 14th - finally had to go grocery shopping - MS calls while I'm out, leaves message saying they will call back early next week
January 19th - still no call, I call MS: Here's where the fun begins:

They're still having problems and only ONE person is set up to do the phone renewals. That's fine, I said I would leave credit card info and they would get back to me.

I then asked, "What is the total?"
"$298.00"
"What??!! - It's only $281.16 if I do the Florida Resident AP renewal. I thought we were supposed to get a $20.00 discount?"
"No, we have not been given that information. You'd be better off doing the FL Resident Renewal."
"Yes, but what's the point of you offering the discount if it costs me more money?"
"I will check with a manager and get back with you."

So, it looks as though the DVC AP discount will be applying to out of state residents only. Now before I get flamed about how lucky we are to live in Florida, we get all the discounts anyway, etc. I just wanted to say that I wish we would have been told this initially rather than find out this way. My husband was so happy that we were finally going to get a DVC discount we could use but now it appears this isn't so.

mayby I'm not getting something, but you live in Florida, and you are a DVC member, so which discount is better. I can't imagine they would give you both?

Original information I read on these boards stated that Florida DVC owners would receive a $25.00 discount on the renewal rate. After my first call to MS, I was told it was $20.00.

Any money saved is worthwhile. I just wish the information had been related to members better and that the implemenation would have been smoother. For the past two weeks at MS, it has been the blind leading the blind.

We were just hoping that, for once, a DVC perk would work for Florida residents. In the past, all of the perks were the same for DVC members as they are for Passholders or DDE members.

Honestly, I'm surprised FL DVC Members are even getting an additional discount on AP renewal above the FL discount rate. Usually Disney allows the least expensive of any discount available, but not more that 1 discount at any time.
