The thing I hate about rides with drops is the clickety clack ride to the top of the drop. I hate heights so that slow ride to the peak freaks me out. I would love to do Splash mt and Space mt but do they have this karge hill to climb before the drop? Ive ridden Big Thunder before and was pretty ok with it but it will be closed when we visit in Novemeer. Thanks for this great info!

:earsboy:WELCOME to the DIS crabmeal!:earsboy:

Splash Mt does have the clickety clack factor going on when you go up the big hill before the drop.IMHO it's not any worse than BTM and you said you did okay on it.:D Splash is also the highest drop at 52 feet.

Space Mt. is much smoother I think beause it's a steal tubed coaster but you do get that clickety clack too.But again no worse than BTM which I think is the loudest and jerkiest ascent of the three.

Maybe bring ear plugs?:D

The coaster that I would recommend (unless you're fearful of upside down loops) it Rock N Roller at MGM.You're not aware of the ascents at all in my opinion.

Splash definetly has those noises but with the wonderful themeing it isn't as noticeable if you look at the scenery around. The biggest noise is the click that signals the drop sequence. You do climb a hill to get up to the top for the final drop but it's not a huge steep hill.

Space isn't as noticeable with the big noises and is really a lot of fun.

I have to say that if you did fine on BTMRR, you should do fine on any ride, that is a LOUD one!!!!! Enjoy, and welcome to the DIS, crabmeal!!!!!

I totally freak out from heights and that slow ride to the top

BTM does not bother me at all

Splash- yikes- top of the hill looking down! Scared the you know what out of me. I only managed to ride it once

Space Mountain was not too bad cause it is dark and you can't really tell how high up you are.

I just wish those rides had restraints. I worry about my kids flying out!

I would give Splash Mountain a try. It is a great ride and only one big drop. I hate heights and do not do thrill rides but Splash Mountain and TOT are 2 of my favorite rides.

Space Mountain doesn't really have a big drop. After the chain ride to the top of the hill, you start a very gradual descent into some turns.

I really hate the clickety clack slow ride to the top of roller coasters too. The height freaks me out, so I have to close my eyes until I get to the top. But on Splash and Space, the trip up the hill is indoors, so it doesn't have that "high" factor. It doesn't bother me at all on either of them. I think you'll be okay.:D

How is the trip to the top on Splash indoors? I assumed it was like six flags flume rides where the ascent was outside and you can see the whole park as you are climbing- yikes! Keep the descriptons coming I have to make up my mind!

The lift is definitely indoors. Much of the ride is enclosed and as you go up the lift hill, you can see the opening at the top and see daylight (well, during the day anyway;) ). When you get to the top, as you go over the hill, that's when you're outside. It's sort of like BTMRR. You're inside going up that hill too.
