Moral Dilemma

I got this from my dad's TIME magazine and I thought it was interesting. There were more but most of you would've probably heard of them already.

And I didn't understand the poll.. I wouldn't wanna kill a baby or have anyone else kill a baby.

Gah. I hate these questions. They are so hard and make me sad. =(

If I was right there and had to make that discision, I'd kill the baby.
You save many perons lives with the loss of 1 is better than losing them all.
It would be hard though. And I'd feel really really bad afterwards.

It's wartime and you're hiding in a basement with your baby and a group of people. Enemy soldiers are outside and will draw at any sound. If you're found you will be killed immediately. Your baby starts to cry loudly and cannot be stopped. Smothering him to death is the only way to silence him and save the lives of everyone in the room. Could you do so? Assume the baby was not yours, the parents are unknown and there will be no penalty for killing him. Could you be the one who smothers this baby if no one else would?"

Either way, the baby is going to end up dead. I would kill it. It would be sad, but I would probablly not regret it.

agreed, though i would have to have someone else do it for me, then hide it when they were done. i cant even kill an and and i have a phobia of corpses

i would kill it, were it mine or were it someone elses. It would be hard to do, but if the baby doesn't die, all of us will die. either way, the baby is dead.

Same here. I 100% agree. I mean it's gonna end up dead either way.

I would never kill it.
Or let anyone else kill it.
A baby is the ultimate sign of innocence.
I wouldn't be able to live with myself even if I had just stood by and watch someone else do it.

I know you might be thinking, "Well, you say that now, but you're not in the situation, you can't decide that."
And it's true. I've never been forced to decide that.
But if I were, I'm positive I would NOT kill that baby.

Even if we all died because of it. At least I could die with a clear conscience.

I read this in a Holocaust book I have. It was really hard to read. This baby was crying and they had to kill it right there. It was so sad, and it was a true story. :\
But I agree that if the baby doesn't go, everyone will ALONG with the baby.
