mopeds in Cozumel

A friend of my did the Western last year, and mentioned renting mopeds and riding around Cozumel.

I didn't get a chance to get all the details, so I was wondering..

How much do they cost?

How long do you rent them for?

Do you tip?

Are they easy to drive, and safe?

How much traffic is on the road.. i am worried about getting run over?

How far from port are the rental area?

Is it a base price, or do you haggle them down?

I wouldn't do it. Rent a Jeep or Safari for an open air wind in your face experience. This company I've used twice with no complaints:

$18 / day (low season) for a VW convertible or Safari, and $30 for a Jeep is unbeatable. We visited in summers, and the Safaris were $30 at the time with insurance (which I highly recommend).

They are locted in the ground floor of the Baraccuda Hotel, just past the Navy station (water on your right) when you reach the shore from the Punta Langosta pier. Its about a 200 yard walk.
