Nab - Thanks. I was at my Mom's. My lil sis and I usually go over every Tuesday, but tonight our older sister was going to be there(she usually goes 1 Monday night a month when her DH is at a meeting, but his meeting was changed to tonight instead) so we were booted out. lol. Plus Chad stayed home because he was too lazy to get out of bed and ride his motorcycle to work in the cold.

Nabbie - Thanks for thinking about me this morning! The road to the freeway was slick but the freeways were fine! I got my hubby to the airport on time and made it to my first appointment early :) Now I'm killing just some time before my second appointment.

Goog luck with your shopping!

MommyP - I put in my vote for your photo too!

we used to do the same thing with our coverer for the comforter......see how smart the Mooers are.......we are all united as one ...and smart as the dickens.....Next week a group of people are going to a medium.......I have been in a group with her leading before.......this gives me the creeps but I really need to go this time.......The first time I went was 5 years ago .....well she hit on a person upside down in water and gurgling (my nephew) and how he was sorry for butting heads with his father.....unreal........

cel1...there's something amusing about you posting to tell your mom to get off the phone.
2.
Also, what do you want out of me? The schedule for Anastasia in fairytale gardens?
1. It is very funny! What's even funnier is the fact that she said CelDaddy left the phone off the hook - he would throw a big ole hissy fit if he knew she called him that.
Cuz all of our imaginary friends aren't REAL to him.
Even though we've met most of you.
:sad2:
We'll be talking about so and so and how their kid is sick or their kid is cute or whatever and he asks who we're talking about.
So we always tell him it's our imaginary friends and he doesn't want to hear it!
2.
Yes! Please PM Monica the schedule for Anastasia so Mal can see her BFF. Don't post it here because Mony is super stressed with exams and her million and a half kids plus her daycare.

My psycho cat was hissing at me the whole time. I think he thought the comforter was coming to life.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Twink and I had a rather lengthy conversation in chat one night about the classic illustrations by Garth Williams vs. the new versions of the books which only feature photos of little girls in prairie garb.
WHAT?????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc those illustrations! They are such a huge part of my childhood! Evil book publishers! Let's protest!
I wonder if I have any of my books left.
I read and read and reread them - so most of them ended up pretty beat up.

I forgot to say hi to smidgy.
Hi smidgy! :flower3:
Is your bar/restaurant smoky? Otherwise, I'd be making the kiddos bring the bambinos in when you're working so you get to see them!

pumba - that spirits stuff freaks me out! :scared:

An illustration was a "huge" part of your childhood? I read them too. My 3rd grade class took a field trip to the Ingall Farm in DeSmet, South Dakota. I was in Laura's house. I trod upon the very ground where Laura and Mary stood. Neither reading the book NOR the illustrations were (or the trip for that matter) a "huge" part of my childhood. However.

Hey Cel. Laura or Mary? LOL.

BDG

Marita-- How long have they known each other? Seems pretty fast to me. But glad she is so happy.
My parents knew each other 10 days before marrying and it lasted 60+ years. Time means little in love.

Pumba, congrats on being serviced by the Schwan's Man.
Shouldn't the Schwan's Man be the one congratulated.(He's the one that made a sale.)

I went to NashVegas Sunday to my sister's and had to detour around 2 blocks from her house due to a grizly murder at the car wash there. Sis was having her housewarming plus first birthday for Glancy and there were about 100 people there. And the niece and nephew are SUPPOSED to open their restaurant tomorrow. Don't know how they'll get it all done. All the tables have old records and album covers under glass. There is a Beatles table, a Simon and Garfunkle table, a Sesame Street Live table, etc. They have a Monte Cristo sandwich on the menu. Plus 2 kinds of reubens. And fancy mac n cheese. Yum!

DTD, your niece and nephew are a glutton for punishment, YIKES! Good Luck to them! The restaurant sounds very cool!
And for that matter, so is your sister. 100 people? :scared:

And the menu does sounds yummy, I could go for any one of those right now.

I better go get some dinner soon.... Hmmm, there is no eating smiley, except for the popcorn. Wonder why???

DTD, hope your niece and nephew's restaurant opening goes well :) The decor sounds interesting. Of course we're going to need to see some pics at some point.

Reubens? Yummo. I just had half of one for lunch today.

Hi, beedeegee!!! You've been to the Ingalls' farm? Who'da thunk it?

My hubby refers to that series as "Little Outhouse on the Prairie". Sacrilege, I know :scared:

Mony - If your family goes to the MVMCP, I think that Mal can see Anastasia at the dance party. Maybe not "THE" Anastasia (Hollywood), but maybe close enough?

We aren't doing MVMCP this time.

I'm supposed to be studying.

This is the first time today I've had a chance to sneak over here.

I have a bat phone too, and it's not quick enough on break from class for me to read and post.

Tim's in Chi-Ka-Go this week.

It's time for a Coke Zero and some BIO books.

POOF!

Knitfreak and her man.
See how she is beaming????

She designed the pattern for her sweater and of course made it herself. Plus she sold the pattern to a pattern company.

I will POOF this later.

PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE!

TheRing.jpg

The engagement ring. It has some small diamonds on each end. They went ring shopping the weekend before to see what she likes, and she did not want a diamond ring.

Mony - Good for you on the studying. I hear you on not having time to check in due to things being so busy. My hubby is in DC this week. He said it's pretty cold there so he didn't try to do any sightseeing today and he'll be in meetings the next couple days. He's out in Arlington, so there's not much nearby anyway. He's usually not adventurous enough to take a cab somewhere.

I'm still debating on MVMCP . . . neither my daughter nor my cousin really want to go. Fingers crossed that you find a way to get a ressie.

Marita! Wow, she sure does look happy. They make a cute couple :) Best wishes to them.

And her sweater is not too shabby either :goodvibes

Moo, yes I think they kind of fit together too.

Looking at the ring picture, I am thinking she had a manicure. I don't remember her nails looking so perfect before, LOL! Not that I ever looked that closely, but I think I would have noticed. :confused3 Especially watching her knit a lot, so nails were in the close picture.
Maybe she was preparing just in case.......

Howdy Moovers.

Lots to do today.

Nice to put a face with the knitfreak name. ha

fwiw, i loved the Little House series. I remember getting the whole collection for Christmas one year and read all of them over Christmas break.

I remember looking at the illustrations as a kid, but I guess I havent thought much about it since. I didnt even realized they had changed.

To PJ: Thanks for creating my signature. However since the presidential election is now over, the Peyton Manning thing is a little old news. Lucky for you, the IU basketball season has started. Find me something to support the new coach who is starting from scratch. His name is Tom Crean. TIA

Marita -- they do look happy. Glad I didn't miss the pictures. I was thinking the same thing about her nails. Wish mine looked so good.

Moo-- I think we do get to see Bolt and in 3D. They just redid the theaters on the boat so they could show 3D shows. Kids are excited about that. I love catching an adult movie on sea day. I don't get to see many at home for me, usually only go to family movies.

Nicholas got in trouble at school yesterday again. He got a pink slip for pushing a kid down. They were calling him fat etc.. I can relate to that but never pushed anyone. And again with the homework. I thought after two weeks of literally checking his back pack before he left school and taking his games away would do it but no. He said he handed something in but didn't :sad2: Now I have taken his beloved dance away for this week for lying to me.

I really do need a holiday.

Who is knitfreak? Is there cliff notes?

One the phone last night with Dining and had to be on hold for 15 minutes after the first time I was on hold for 15 mins and the cm answered and disconnected us.

This nice CM told me how he is not able to grant anyone much for december. "Everyone seems to be coming this year. There's not a room available. Not even the ones that go for $2,000.00 a night."

I almost fainted.

What, did EVERYONE read my first trip report or something?:confused3

Who is knitfreak? Is there cliff notes?

Knitfreak is a co worker of Marita's who loves to knit. She met this guy on an internet dating site. Marita recommended this site to Celery and she met the Breadman. She is also known to knit little things at work so they can win contests there. A scraf for a snowman comes to mind, but can't remember what she used.

Thanks, that brings me up to speed.

So I hear you and I will be in the world the same time at the end of your cruise........

Did you miss me?
You must have to have such a fabulous conversation about Little House on the Prairie. Which was also a "huge" part of my childhood in that Little House in the Big Woods was the first chapter book I ever read and that I spent many years playing Little House in the woods in our backyard. Of course I was always the character with whom I share a name (Nellie- duh!).

. Perhaps we'll have to make it our official title. Ponder on it. :scratchin
2. I couldn't agree more. Those illustrations just made me want to jump right in the book and sit around and sing with the family while Pa played the guitar! (for some reason I remember that one in particular)
Pa played the FIDDLE. I think you need remedial Little House lessons if you are going to be teaching our nations youth.
To help you and for all Garth Williams fans- they now have Little House picture books, illustrated by the man himself. Perfect for pre-readers and early readers! Stunning illustrations.

Just taking a break from BIO. I know more about the male anatomy than I care to at this point.:headache:

Heh. I know a couple of good jokes:rolleyes1

Mony & Moo & Mal- Loved the meet pictures. Sounds like y'all had a great time. You all look lovely.

NAB- adorable family pictures! Great choice on the xmas card.

Hi to anyone else I may have forgotton. ;)

Hey Cel. Laura or Mary? LOL.
I'm going to pretend you mean which character did I like best and NOT which one did I have a crush on. :snooty:
Laura all the way, baybee!
Mary was too much of a goody two shoes for my taste. Laura had spunk!

Did I ever tell y'all that Laura's great great neice or cousin or something cut my finger in 5th grade? Her name is Rose Ingalls.
We were both reaching for the same pair of scissors only they weren't closed, so when she picked them up, my thumb got in the way.
I could never have a life of crime because I have a VERY distinctive right thumbprint. There's still a section that's a 1/4 inch long where the ridges didn't grow back.

1. I went to NashVegas Sunday to my sister's and had to detour around 2 blocks from her house due to a grizly murder at the car wash there.
2. And the niece and nephew are SUPPOSED to open their restaurant tomorrow.
1. It was a carjacking, I think. VERY SCARY!
2. Give me the address! It sounds cool and I'm always looking for new lunch places. Is this the same neice that has the ice cream place? I was looking for it the other day. We went to eat at Monell's and I know the ice cream place is around there, but I can't ever find it!

1. I think we do get to see Bolt and in 3D.

2. Nicholas got in trouble at school yesterday again.
1. I'm jealous! How fun!
2. :headache: Tell him I said to behave! Ha. Like he'd listen to me!

Ben and Angel (two of the people in the height picture) are working in New Jersey this week so they went into NYC yesterday. They went to see David Letterman taping and went to see Wicked too! I'm jealous! :maleficen :maleficen (I never thought about how much Maleficient looks like Elphaba! must be why I like them both. )

How does someone who's been on this thread for awhile not know who knitfreak is?
Shh! I think Mony is a SKIMMER! popcorn::
