Ok, guess we'll have to. Cheers :drinking1

I think I'll head to the grocery store to get some imitation german beer and some imitation german rolls and dark bread to wean myself off slowly from the good stuff and then settle back on my cheap gallon wine, LOL

Marita - I'm so glad you got to spend time with your mom and it went reasonably well.
I feel your scary train story!
I was petrified the first time I rode the subway in new york - I had to switch lines and no one could tell me if I was reading the map right - but I was and it was ok.
I wasn't alone though - but the people with me were no help.

A mel sighting!!!!

*stalk*

Celery, I saw you pounced on Mel's report, LOL!

I bet she is heartbroken to hear of your conversion, heh!

DS just called. He was supposed to make his first solo flight yesterday, after only 5 weeks of training :scared1: . So I worried all day yesterday. Then I found out when I got home that it was cancelled because of bad weather.
Anyway, he just called and said he made it today! :cool1:
He has another 4 or so solo flights left to do, including doing maneuvers and one only flying by instruments flight. But he is pretty much assured his job now, no more thread of being thrown out or being reassigned, I think :worship:

These whole months since May have not been good for my nerves, all that worrying. But hopefully it will be over soon.

OK people...

I"m packed - hope my 21" x 14" x 9" suitcase measures to Uniteds 22x14x9 standard - otherwise we are down to carry on only!! :cool1:

I feel so selfish saying this, but I truly feel like the joy has been sucked right out of me - I hope to get my joy refilled in Disney!!

Marita DH has some Paulaner brewed and bottled in Munich Germany!!

Alli hope all is well!!

Sandy, you will be great, now get your Disney Joy on!

See you soon!

They had some pretty big carry ons on planes when I went, I'm sure you will be fine!

DId you know that Maelstrom is a Fastpass?? And the movie is really good, too! And even the boys look good there! :rolleyes1

PS, I hear the schoolbread is really good there too. I never had any, so I dont know first hand.

POP is a fun place, I liked working there. Go do the Twister board with the family! And try the adult breakfast platter { I used to get the breakfast platter for lunch sometimes just before they closed}
and the chicken mediterranian at the first stop on the left. I love it!

Ride the monorails, ride the trains, ride the boats, go to Ft Wilderness and pet the goats and sheep or even go for a horse or hay ride, go to Port Orleans and ride the coach, just explore. Or just ride rides or swim or whatever. Just go ENJOY your trip!

Oh, and you can fish at Port Orleans Riverside (catch and release with a cane pole). That may be fun. They stock the lake with fish, much to the delight of an otter family who think they died and went to heaven!

Just remember to take it easy, don't go commando! Go for a swim, the weather is great!

:3dglasses A Rob sighting? Long time no see! Is ball season over?
Hi Moo! Hmmm, with four boys, ball season is NEVER over. Baseball ends this weekend (if the rain allows us to play our final tournament) but basketball pre-season practicing started last weekend and of course football overlaps both.

I'm HOOOOMEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome home Marita! I enjoyed your train story and your "cooling the beer" story.

Well, look what the cat dragged in. I mean.........Hi, Rob! :wave2:
Hi Melinda!

Who's Rob? :lmao: Glad to see you back too. Your vacation was longer then Marita's and she was in Germany.
Ha ha! Funny lady! Thanks Nab!

Whaaaaaaaaat? extra spunky is my normal state of being. ha. when i worked yesterday, one of the nurses said "You are like comic relief. I love it when you work" and I said "Gosh, I feel quite the opposite when I see your name on the schedule" and she burst out laughing. You gotta be careful who you are "spunky" with though. Some people cant handle it. Losers. hee hee

hang on just a cotton pickin' minute. I thought you Dis died.

1. This made me LOL (yes, for reals, PJ!).

2. Whaaaaat? Never. (well, probably never) And, and, and -- at least you have me going in the right direction (in your smiley).

Oh, and WB to ROB!
Thanks Marita!

This brought a tear of joy to my eye!!! I promise no commando (I'll wear underdrawers too!! :rotfl2: and I guess I will pack the swim suit!!)

Hi everyone I hope I can get everything in my tiny suitcase for cool weather at DL...what are some packing secrets...I havnt been on a plane in many years????

First - take all the liquids, extra shoes, and mail 'em to yourself a week before you leave!!
Then, take your clothes, and roll them - and always remember, what you forget to pack, take plastic for!! :rotfl2: (its my dad's new motto - if you forget it, you can buy it when you get there!!)

Things are looking brighter - my suitcase weighs in at.... 21#'s!! :cool1: and has lots of space left over, so I'm debating on stuffing my feather pillow in it!! :rotfl2:

DD has worked 3 hours on homework so far, we have to bring her math homework, as its too much to do all at once!! Sheesh, this prealgebra 6th grade stuff is nutz!!

Ok, Here is why we were up late/early (depending on which way you look at it ;) )

pPETS-3760576t400.jpg

A 55 Gallon Aquarium!!!!:scared1:

We bought this last night. Actually it was about at closing because they had already turned out some of the lights at THE PetSmart. :rolleyes1 Anyway, we didn't get the stand, and our tank is all black.

DH wanted a tank that could house some semi-aggressive fish. ;) So, we now have a new home for them, which he purchased today. It also has a pirate theme. It has a shipwrecked ship, a skull with patch, and a treasure chest, plus various rock formations, and plastic greenery. ;)

We have a red tailed shark (which is actually a catfish :rotfl2: ), and six Tiger Barbs (sp?). They are quite entertaining to watch.

So we were up so late because I had to build the cabinet that the tank sat on. Actually built it twice because I built it backwards the first time. :headache: I HATE picture only directions.

Then we had to set up the aquarium and fill it with water.

I didn't mean to alarm anyone, so I apologize if I did. :goodvibes

Sandy - I didn't hear my phone when you called cause we were inside THE WalMart. I'll try to call tonight, but I know your busy getting last minute stuff done. (Maybe tomorrow ;) )

I'm going to try and watch the debate, but if it's like the last one, I'll probably fall asleep. :rotfl2:

Allie, aggressive fish? Buidling stuff? You are a brave soul!!!!!!!

DD told me last night that our cat had gone missing for 3 days while i was gone, and she NEVER goes out anymore, unless the dog is out. So that was very unusual. She said they were prepared to ditch the litter box :goodvibes Convinced she had gone off to die like our last one. And the cat is OLD, but acts like a kitten.
But then the cat showed up again. So I guess we will have more litter box stuff for a while......

The cat is not generally affectionate, but she licked my hand last night when I got home. So I guess we will keep her a while

Can't throw her out on the street now. can we? She is sleeping next to me on the couch now. I think cats have a great life!

dear Marita........we have missed you so......glad that you are home again and back with us..

I remember when my mom would come downstairs all dressed and ready to go out and wonder why the transportation for the elderly wasnt here yet........she would be ready and it was 7:30 PM and not AM......it is sad when they get old......I cant believe that mama has been gone ten months already......and Mom P has been gone over a year now......time sure flew by......I could use a beer once in a while.....I like ultra cause of less carbs.....heck I would drink anything right now.....IN THAT MOOD....maybe it has something to do with that moon that is shining in...

I took care of my pumpkin today......My youngest granddaughter......she is 2 and quite a character.....she likes to be on the mooooove.......

Something I must of eaten cause my insides are not happy tonight.....be back some other time......bye

Pumba, I will happily share my beer with you tonight

I think its even fairly close to the real thing! :drinking1 Cheers!

I have a gazillion things to eat in the house and I am vagely hungry, not too much, but I dont want anything, or rather, I dont know what I want.

I bet I could sell this lack of appetite on the diet market for millions of dollars!

Any takers? I need some motivation for quitting smoking and excercise in return though.

Marita......
Ask your doctor for some help.....it is very hard to quit......hubby and I did it 22 years ago cold turkey....there was no help back then......and I was a heavy smoker....over 2 packs a day......I would be bankrupt now they are soooooooo expensive....but anyways......get help and I thnk you can do it.....we are here to help you anytime you need us.....we can be the hotline to quitting smoking....you will be so dang healthy....you will have a great appetite and you will sleep at a moments notice........and think how good all those things will smell.......beer even smells good.....we love you and want you to be here forever.......HUGS. and raise my beer mug in honor of your return

How kind of Kenny to supply such a fine gift to celebrate your achievement! Maybe that's why he was performing on the abc morning show today.
Moo, Kenny and I are likethis. Bff and all. We decided yesterday would be good timing for the release. Now if it had just been a good cd. I almost feel like a traitor saying that! But I didn't like his last cd that much and this one definitely didn't wow me. I want the old Kenny Chesney back!

MARITA! Welcome back!! It's good to see you here again! I enjoyed your mini tr. Do you have any pictures of Germany?

PEEJ! Congratulations! On the test. Not the new CD.
Get your priorities in order there, lady. ;)

Nab...happy anaversary! That card was too cute. :goodvibes I love the creative spelling.

1. where's goofydad when you need him?

2. i just dont want to listen to your whiney astarstar all winter "I'm sick. I dont feel good. My throat hurts. My body aches. Why didnt I get the flu shot like the smart bbn told me to"

3. Yay for passing your test! Have a pirate:

4. hang on just a cotton pickin' minute. I thought you Dis died.

1. I ask myself that same question on a daily basis. :sad2:
2. You do realize you'll be accompanying me on this venture and it could be a tower of terror-esque repeat, right? Self proclaimed wimp, at your service.
3. And really, what could be a better test passing reward?
4. Just fyi...just because you wish something happened doesn't mean it did.
KIDDING!

Sandy...bon voyage! Have a GREAT trip! We'll want pictures when you get back.

This made me LOL (yes, for reals, PJ!).

Allie...that's so cool about the aquarium! Man, my kids would love that. They're so not getting one, but they would love it.

Okay, my mind is going to wander here, stay with me. My train of thought makes sense to me. So we have to teach these science kits. The lessons in them are really specific and come with all the materials. In conclusion, they're boring cookie cutter lessons and I hate them. I always Peej-ify them for my kids. ANYWAY, the most recent unit was on crayfish. So, I have 8 crayfish in my room. We started with 11. Don't ask the fate of the other 3. :rolleyes1 They're nasty, creepy, smelly, ugly little creatures and I more or less hate them. The unit concludes next week so they come to pick up the crayfish habitats. So, I asked what the heck I am supposed to do with the crayfish. They gave me a bag and said put them in here, then put them in the freezer for 3-4 days, then throw them in the dumpster. :scared: :scared: :scared:  Is that not disgusting? Am I a horrible person if I go through with the freezing of the crayfish??? Maybe I should start a poll on the CB. Heh.

Favorite kid moment of the day and then I'll be done. We have swimming lessons this week. We go to a pool, the kids get a lesson, a good time is had by all, and then we go back to school. So today we were waiting for the bus to take us to the pool and one of the kids had to go to the bathroom. I told him he couldn't go because the bus was pulling up. He was whining because he didn't want to go when we got there because he'd miss part of the lesson. I told him he should have gone with us when we went earlier. So then another kid turns to him and says "__________, it's okay, just pee in the water when you get there and then you won't have to miss any of the fun." And I'll leave you with that pleasant thought. :teacher:

Sweet dreems, all.
:grouphug:

there is this commercial on tv that I just laugh my head off at......it is four guys and they are cooking on a grill and one of them starts his stuff .....Hillshire and one yells beef and then they yell it together like a football team ...and they yell go meat at the end........It cracks me up.....

Katie and I when we went to Orono this past mnday....well this truck pulls in front of us on the interstate......on his trailer hitch sits a deer and it is cute....then on the back of his tailgate is another deer.......when he pulled into our lane and used his blinker.....the deer started to give us the hands down thingie....we laughed our heads off.

We saw some hawks and a deer on a persons lawn and alot of road kill......I mean splattered all over the place.....

and that is news to you and who else???????? Sweet young PJ!

I only took 1 picture in Germany, of my moms big living room cabinet! Why you ask? Because it boggles my mind how they got it in there. It is easily 9' long. No visibible seams to suggest they got it in in pieces either. And the big leather chair and sofa too. Horrible. terrible winding stairway. I hate it! I think mom said they took out the windows on the balcony to get it in. Now, she has a balcony, but many people dont. Apartments are much more prevalent than individual homes in Germany. And many are may flights up, without elevators, and good furniture is much in demand in Germany. It's all about "what people think" Anyway, it boggles my mind, that whole moving thing/

I didn't take any other pics in Germany, because 1) nobody to take pics of besides my mom
and
2) I would rather remember my mom the way she used to be

Let me see if I can post the living room cabinet pic on my new laptop, I think I have a port for it now!

well, guess what? Seems I dont have a slot for pics after all! How can that be with new PC???
Anyway, I suppose nobody will be heartbroken over missing my mom's cabinet....

Welcome back, Marita. Is your trip over now?

I have another code in ma nose. Grrrrr.

Anyway, Hi moooovers!

We saw some hawks and a deer on a persons lawn and alot of road kill......I mean splattered all over the place.....
Thank you for that lovely visual, pumba! :rotfl:

and that is news to you and who else???????? Sweet young PJ!
Yeah yeah, all kids pee in the pool, I know. It was just the way he said it so matter of factly. No shame at all!

Welcome back, Marita. Is your trip over now?

I have another code in ma nose. Grrrrr.

Anyway, Hi moooovers!
Feel better soon!

Hi Steph! You need some stiff drinks, I say, to help you over your cold.

Try a stiff Grog, Rum in hot water, and dont be bashfull with the rum! Add sugar if you HAVE to!
