Tell him (CBM) you're pre-menopausal or something! :rolleyes1 Lady-talk should work with that one, I'm guessing. Or not.

Yes, not. He has no concern beyond his wallet, I'm afraid. I squawked so much that he relented and put the A/C on at 3:30 for TWENTY MINUTES!! :headache: Needless to say, he needn't have bothered.

1. WHAT?!? minivans are NOT the be all and end all of cool?:confused3

2. Lali- I love the CBM chronicles.... keep posting them in case I tempted to get a job.

1. Don't tell the Stepford moms at my kids' school! :rolleyes1

2. I'm afraid there's no end to the pitiful, true saga of CBM. Stay tuned for the next installment.......... :sad2:

L....I almost said schlep today. Don't worry, I caught myself. I would say you're definitely to blame though.

Let me just say teacher orientation is not a fun time. BORING!!!!!!! Here are some of the extremely useful pieces of information that I gathered from today: I cannot buy alcohol for my students. Undressing with one's eyes, patting, hugging, winking at, or giving personal gifts to another employee is considered harassment. I really enjoyed the winking part. There will be no winking in the workplace...and that's final!!

Okay, as I am living in a sea of boxes I think I will get back to unpacking. Oh, and I got a cat. He totally needs a name.

Hi to anyone I missed. The end.

Ha! It is perfectly reasonable to use "schlep" in conversation! You're welcome!

Teacher orientation sounds.....uh, interesting. Are you taking notes? I'd hate to see you winking when you should be hugging. Or sumpn. :confused3

And how can you still not have a name for that poor cat? For shame! Poor thing could develop an identity crisis! Tsk, tsk!

Now go schlep those boxes! Pronto!

Hmm,. I just had a thought (probably not a good idea)
Schleppen (to schlepp) is a german word. Maybe there is no good translation? THe Original is perfect? Just like sauerkraut, you just cannot improve on the word "sauerkraut"

Twinkessori
....I'm confused as to where you are. Still in Carolina or whatever? Haven't you been there like a million years?
Yes. I am still in Carolina or whatever and yes it has been a million years. I am headed back to the prairie soonishly, and like the Magi we are going back by a different route. Sorry Melinda.... you won't get the chance to meet us when we are grumpy, exhausted and travel stained. Just imagine us as charming and attractive. ;)

Twinkie, we sure need to see pics of the shirt! Cut off the heads if you have to (the pictures, not the kids!)
Hee hee. Goog job clarifying TMbbn. I have like 2 GB of pix to upload tomorrow so maybe I will.

1. Don't tell the Stepford moms at my kids' school! :rolleyes1

2. I'm afraid there's no end to the pitiful, true saga of CBM. Stay tuned for the next installment.......... :sad2:

1. Yes I drive the Stepford make, model and color of minivan.... but since I schlep 5 kids around (4 in carseats) I think I can be forgiven. Plus my DH got me a vanity plate which is ha-larious.... because the whole vanity plate concept is so not me. But at least now I can find my car among all the others:goodvibes

2. :happytv: Will he be making mouth noises while eating? only allow toilet flushing during odd hours? *insert scary theme music here*

Good Morning!

I'm back, unpacked, have done the laundry and tidied up the house from a week of kitty free-for-all. Now life slowly goes back to normal. :)

I hope to catch up later today on the news I missed. Maybe someone can give me a synopsis of the highlights. ;)

GOOD MORNING!

I just can't get up in the mornings. Can't get DS to bed early enough to suit me. Today is his REAL birthday. Eight years old already. :guilty:

I mentioned to him last night that Mimi would be moving out soon and he was devastated. He told me to call those people and tell them that I changed my mind and Mimi would NOT be moving to campus. NOT! :upsidedow He loves his Mimi.

I didn't take a lunch break yesterday since the partners took the nice lady who's leaving to lunch. I didn't want to leave while they were gone and I needed every minute with her when she got back. I'm still tired.

Please continue to pray for my friend who lost her son. Her struggle is not getting easier and some days she seems much worse. I worry about her. A lot.

Wendy....Nice cars! My granddaddy collected antique cars but more on the model T side of the spectrum. I would love to have a convertible model A. I did car shows and tours with them while I was growing up. Car people really are the nicest!

Moo....My friend is an urban planner. He started with a firm and then went out on his own. I would think Mari's interest in the environment and sustainability would make her a hot commodity these days! Tell her to keep looking. (preferably inside the mitten.)

PJ....You mean it's not OK to undress your coworkers with your eyes? :confused3 Uh oh. I hate those stupid workshops. I went to a food managers seminar where they told you not to smoke in food prep areas, not to pick your nose, don't grab a glass by the rim, etc. Do people REALLY not know these things? How's the apartment?

Lynette....I'm with Wendy on the peri-menopausal hot flashes. That oughtta get the air on.

Marita....I thought working from home was the new normal with the price of gas?

WT....So that WASN'T you at Fayette Mall!? Hard to believe. It looked just like you! Really. If my phone had a camera I would've taken a picture.

Monica.....So your Schwan's man delivers, eh? Maybe I need to look into some Schwans.

HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYBODY!

My friends always laugh when I talk about my schwans man. I just wish he was something to talk about.

I've gone through 2 and am on my 3rd one. One is because I moved, and after 8 years the other left the company. This last one has been coming for a few months. I guess hotness is not a hiring quality. Good thing though......:rolleyes1 :lmao:

Happy Birthday Lexy's son!!!!!

Lynette: Start undressing.

My dad had an old cadillac. He took care of it but then he got cancer and over time it didn't run good. I had one of the guys from where I worked come over and take a look at it and he got it to where it would run ok. We have the Woodward Dream Cruise over here and as a "gift" Tim and I took him cruising in it when my oldest was under a year old. I will never forget that day.

How does one know if you are undressing someone with your eyes, winking I get, but really............

Today I go and discuss all those pictures I had taken with the Dr.

(Oh, that sounded wonderful)

Have a great day everyone!

Hi everybody. Thanks for all your kind words. I think you were right Martia. I needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

I had another baby choke the next day. It was a Spanish speaking lady and she put on her call light and just said 'COME. PLEASE' but you could hear panic in her voice, so I took off and sure enough, the baby was choking. BUT! not as bad. I was able to suction that baby out pretty quickly and she only turned blue for a second. But then I had to get on the freakin' interpreter phone and explain everything. I hate that there is a language barrier in emergency situations.

ANYWAY, hope everybody had a nice weekend. I have a couple of days off. I will try to pop in when I can.

between my ups man and the schwans man I dont really know who was cuter...they were both cutie petuties........HONEST>.......oh well...havent had a schwans service for over a year now and I did get my ups man to deliver yesterday.....

I played some of the songs for one rug rat and he loved the music of Queen...I do too...

have a good day everyone

wooooo hoooooooooo the ups man came and delivered my cd and some books....the cd is Queens greatest hits......I love just love some of the music.....especially Bohemian Rapsody...my favorite.....I think I will send for a meatloaf cd next and then The Three Tenors......I will be in heavy....
So whats up....it was a nice day today and my dil and two grandkids came and also I had two rug rats.....everyone was super...My granddaughters fish (Mr. man) passed away during the evening hours so she had to have a new one.....she is just two and was looking at her fishy and said .....Poor baby .dont ya feel okey......to cute I think.....
My stomach is not a happy camper....but I think it may be the french fries I had at lunch.......
Norah was born to Bohemian Rhapsody! True story!
That CD is my cleaning the house CD played loudly in the intercom. Mama Mia Figaro!

oh moooooooo.....you are going to be serviced by Schwans......you are soooooo lucky

I NEED a Schwans man!!!! :rolleyes1

Sal, my schwans man, delivers this Friday.

And he delivers! I, of course, went there :upsidedow

Hmm,. I just had a thought (probably not a good idea)
Schleppen (to schlepp) is a german word. Maybe there is no good translation? THe Original is perfect? Just like sauerkraut, you just cannot improve on the word "sauerkraut"
I thought there is 2 P's in schlepp! So it means the same?
Now I want sauerkraut on a polish sausage. With mustard and pickle.

Good Morning!

Welcome back Kay!

I don't do mornings either. :sad2: Don't even talk to me till I've been properly caffeinated.:scared:

Will-do on the prayers for your friend! I can't imagine how hard it is for her. :flower3:
My family was in the Model A Club of America. We used to get dressed up in period clothing and go to shows. My sister and I got to ride in the rumble seat! :lovestruc

Over a Year?:faint:
Package delivery from UPS? (Ok, I'll delete that!)

Cel, glad things are going so well for you with breadman. Aren't you glad I posted the tip from knitfreak for you???:lmao:
Yes. Very. The breadman is the best. And maybe one day he'll actually be in love with me.
I think it's starting to happen. He's getting slightly possessive. His best friend (who is in Memphis) said he wanted me to give him a spanking for his birthday. Breadman said no. Jason asked if it was because I objected - breadman said *HE* objected.
Muaha.

babycow - oh my goodness on the choking babies! what's an interpretor phone?
like a babbel fish in hitchhiker's guide?
or is there a person on the other end?

I am NEVER posting anything remotely funny here again.

Wheat Thins
Don't leave me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WT, you know you  us! You wouldn't want to abandon us and have Cel to go into a permanent funk, now would you!!!
Fer rizzle!

Umm.
I'd get fired.
I wink a lot.

You'd love where I'm working this week.
Lots of loud country music in the cubicle beside me. :sad2:

Evidently there are some good lookin guys roaming the Fayette Mall.

Wheat Thins

Scrabblettes!

I see that Scrabulous is "disabled till further notice" (a law suit?)
but Scrabble Beta is available to play. Which is also in Facebook. Looks to be similar to the real-fake thing we've been playing, and is by Hasbro

Happy Tuesday, y'all!

Happy birthday to Melinda's son, and happy birthing day to Melinda!

Lynette: Start undressing.

Yikes! If I have to resort to nudity, I WILL get a new job!

Hope your visit with the doc goes well.

Hello Moovers! :wave2:

Just a fly by, and I can't even pretend that I read back, 'cause I didn't, and don't have time. Where did the summer go? My kids start NEXT WEDNESDAY. :scared1: :cool1: :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: I don't go back until the day after Labor Day.

I just read on MSN that your Scrabble game has been removed from Facebook. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: What are you Scrabblettes gonna do? Seems like Hasbro was gonna sue. :scared:

Hope everyone is well. I'll prolly be able to check back in next Wed. :rolleyes1

I KNOW!!!! I may just have to resort to posting my the words I am particularily proud of like

SHIRT (with H a double letter and T a triple word)
and
TOKE
and
BESTOMP
and lets not forget

ANTISMOG (bingo)

of course I think Wendy and Lynette are just toying with me because whenever I have a brilliant play then they immeadiately get 3 bingos in a row.

I guess I will just have to start cooking and cleaning in my spare time. Ha.

Hi Allie! How exciting that is is almost the most wonderful day of the year for you.

Hi Celery!

Hi Nab- how are things in Canada?

Happy Giving Birth Day Melinda!!!! I hope that King Last Baby has a nice day.

Crap, Lynt! SHE KNOWS! :cool2:

ANTISMOG was truly the best Bingo, ever. I could actually envision you happy-dancing all over the house with that little gem. :cool1:

Let's see if I have another choking baby story to tell. Hmmm. Nope. Fresh out.

I like the phrase "King Last Baby". Red definitely knows he is KLB. lol

Celery: An interpreter phone has two handsets. You and the patient are on the phone at the same time and then you call a company and someone translates what you say to them.

Mony: Best of luck at the doctor.

Wendy: My dh just bought a best of Queen album. Caleb was laughing at the bicycle song. He said "they actually wrote a song about a bike?"

SG:
Please keep yourself underwraps. @@! :rolleyes1

pumba: When my youngest was little (3 or 4), every one would ask him where he got his red hair. He would always reply "The Schwanns Man" b/c he heard dh say that once and I could not get him to stop saying it.:upsidedow

Lex: Happy Giving Birth Day!

WT: Whatever helps ya sleep at night. zing!

Dd is making popcorn. I think I will have to investigate this scenario.popcorn::

1. Drat! Our cover is blown! Darn you, Nancy Drew!

2. Let us not forget Mony's 73,000 point bingo. :worship:

SG:
Please keep yourself underwraps. @@! :rolleyes1

Uh, yeah. ONE of us has a problem with keeping these: @@ under wraps. The other one is me. Got it?

Hello Friends!

Kay, welcome home, hope you had a great time!

Mony, hope the doctor visit went well!

Happy Giving Birth day to Melinda and Happy Birthday to BIG BOY 8!

Hi to everyone else.

Well, I got home this afternoon to work on my 9th forecast of the year, and could not get into the application I needed to get into. After 2 1/2 hours on and off the phone (while they were trouble shooting) with my new best friends, Tom, Don , Manual (NOT Manuel), and someone else from IT, they fnally got me fixed. I had a corrupted profile, or the server had issues, one of those :scared1: I hate having a corrupted profile, it sounds so like lurking for being served by a Swan's man :rolleyes1

Anyway, they finally got me fixed up and I finished what I needed to do tonight.

I think I am going to go clean the kitchen and get coffee ready for the morning and dinner for tonight, I need a break from work.

A Stouffer Deluxe French Bread Pizza is on the menu tonight, I decided :)
