A LIL G VISIT!!!!!! :cool1: I miss you Mister!!!!!!!

Ahem.

I have an announcement! I, your friendly neighborhood Lalijack, am now

GAINFULLY EMPLOYED!!!!!

Wendy, congrats on planning a trip! I agree that a goodly part of the magic is in planning!
OMGosh!!!! Congrajulashunz!!!!

wendy - glad you found a church you like! (also glad it's not Mormon. :) We can be real on here, right? I love you!)

our church has a starbucks esque store too. My mom thinks we're going to hell! :lmao:

I have permanent help on Sundays with my 2 year olds! Her name is Amanda and her and her husband are both Disney addicts too! This could be bad for both of us since we're all trying to do the Financial Peace recommendations.
She's on the disboards too, and I told her the name of our group, so she might drop by.
Yay, another friend! Soooo, what's Financial Peace? Wait, dont answer. I have NO business squandering some of my tax return on Disney,,,BUT, I will go INSANE if I dont have something to look forward to.

We are in the 60 day mark before we go to the House of the Mouse.......I AM SO READY....
LUCKY DUCK! I'm happy for you! I want a 30 day countdown chart.

Ok, I couldn't help it! I had to come find you! :rotfl: Never visited this part of the disboards before so just thought I'd say hi. :wave2:

I was really proud of our decision to be financially smart this year and skip WDW, and change our annual trips into every other year. It helps when I work with a bunch of people who look at me like I sprout horns every time I talk about Disney. But working with another addict every Sunday may get me in serious trouble - especially when you ditch me with 15 2 year olds for two weeks in a row to visit our happy place!!!
WELCOME! I'm an oldie prodigal daughter returning to my real Disney "family" (sniff)

Some of us (like me!) have spotty attendance records 'round here, and others show up more regularly.

Y'all: thanks for the well wishes and congratulations on my new gig! I am really looking forward to it, but I'm a bit nervous as well. I thrive on the familiar, so stepping into a new situation makes me a bit angsty. Gah.
*Cough*
I'm feeling angsty too. I'm overwelmed at needing to job search and am so scared to settle for a lousy job. I have the pressure of raising 3 kids so settling is likely.

For everyone else - stone soup is our kids with "different abilities" group at church. we have Sunday morning classes for special needs kids and a monthly parents night out, but a 14 year old with a heart of gold wanted to offer one on Sunday night - so when she asked me to be her adult (sucker), I couldn't say no.

We're mostly female and I think I'm the only childless one (other than PJ, but she hardly posts anymore) - although we do have several empty nesters.
I love these guys because we all come from different backgrounds and perspectives, but we care about each other and have been here for each other over the years. :grouphug:

Enough mushy stuff!
I was just going to ask you what Stone Soup was. AMAZING! I love your church!
Dang you on the mushy stuff. I miss you guys!

Welcome to the group, AC. That makes me think of AC/DC. Are you a fan? I think several of us used to enjoy "Back In Black" at one time. hehe I'm kinda like Lynette, in that I used to be here more, but I now work all the time so that we can be DEBT FREE some day, so my attendance is spotty. But I am "pleased to meetcha"

Et al: Have a nice day. I'm off to birth babies in a few hours!
Spotty Sprinkles here!
I trust anyone who says "et al" and "hence".

Awww! I remember that "other place". We all seemed to have so much time for dreck and drivel then, didn't we?

Or maybe we could just "randomly" bump into each other at a WDW restaurant? Say, Whispering Canyon? I'll be the one skipping through the lobby. ;)

I popped in to say hey and to take a break from some Disney math. I am in the process of planning a trip to the World for my DBro, his GF and their combined 5 kids. They want to go in mid-October so they can do MNSSHP. So far, there aren't any really good promos for after October 1, so I'm probably going to have them book the trip and cross their appendages for either a PIN or a gen-pop discount. My brother and his 4 kids have never been to Disney (imagine that?!), so I really want them to have an amazing time. His GF has only been a few times, and she's always paid rack rate. That'll never do! So she asked if I would help her plan. :goodvibes

Boris and Natasha went back to school this morning. Surprisingly, they were both out of bed before me today. Natasha tells me there are only 73 more school days left in this school year. We aren't quite in the home stretch, but at least we're getting there!

I also managed to get my grocery shopping done this morning, despite TORRENTIAL rain. I wasn't thrilled about getting soaked, but at least it's not snow, right?

I may go bake something just to put the oven on and take the dampness out of the house. Back later!

At least it wasn't snow. Indeed!
I will skip too!!!! We can do-se-do skip in circles with the intent to mortify one or more of our combined brood, which is always my intent.

Goog evening, all!

Nabbie - My knee is feeling a tad better tonight. Ready for Biggest Loser. Bob said on FB that it's going to be dramatic tonight :rolleyes1

Lynette - Hope the new job went great today!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Wendy - Hope you find a better job soon

Hi everyone! I made it through my first day....it actually went really well! The new boss is very likeable. There are sooooo many differences between him and CBM! For instance, new bossman does NOT have a visible, permanent plaque buildup between his teeth. Also, when he bought me lunch today (I KNOW, RIGHT?), he did NOT talk with his mouth full, thereby forcing me to dodge flying schrapnel as I enjoyed my sammich. Also, new bossman can string words together in order to form a coherent sentence AND actually listens to the response when he asks me a question. Shocking, right?

Also, during my 3.5 hour work day today he gave me some really nice products. A really good bottle of imported olive oil (cha-CHING!!), some really great spices, and a big ol' package of Madagascar vanilla beans. I can't wait to work these ingredients into some recipes!!!

I spent the day going over the inventory with him, and getting familiar with the ordering systems and vendors. Tomorrow, I'll be adding some new products and photos to the site. So far, so good! Thanks to everyone who wished me well on my first day! Y'all are the best! :grouphug:

Moo, sorry about your knee! Glad it's a bit better tonight. Hopefully, your other work-related not-so-goodness will right itself quickly too.

Wendy, job hunting is chock full o'angst, if you ask me. Good luck! What kind of nursing do you want to do?

NAB, although I love those days when Big Daddy and I are able to catch some extra time together, I don't know how retirement will go (if I ever get there!). After a few days, he starts messing up my qi and I start inventing errands and chores for him. :rotfl: And like you said, you can't really keep up with the housework if you're out gallivanting all day!

Where is Marita? :confused3

All the rest of y'all: HOLLA!

Hollah back!

I had a long post with quotes and witty repartee and :lmao: but the DIS ate it or I to hit submit before the hoardes of offspring invaded from the school bus.

Congrats on your new job lally-jack.

I :rotfl: at AC's posts (one pincode from booking....:lmao:) and hereby declare that we should call her Acey. Get it? :goodvibes

my internet is acting wonky so good bye

life is good, especially when your breathing.

wanta hear a secret? over the years, i have been connecting the "dots",
research to bridge the gap/s between mental health, human dynamics,
& their roles in maintaining our physiology levels [ body functions].

ha! you think i started these observations in pysch? no , you will
be wrong. remember my ob career/- it is a documented reality,
newborns fighting for life, chances were increased, if they were
held by their mothers before being transported to nicu.

again while working micu, mental support systems were helping
pts. to fight for life. [ respirators, medicines, iv's, were parts of
of unit. we family left flowers, i used to lay a rose next to
pillow as a reminder of the good thing in life. ]

now here's a theory that i have been receiving positive feedback
from psych . pts. every time i ask them. i have never seen /read it
anywhere but i think it is very important so those who have
never experience psychosis , can begin to understand what is
exactly going on . hallucinations may not be real but the ways they
are produced can be demonstrated. maybe when others can
visualize what is going wrong, then those with chronic problems
can be supported & coping skills so reduced dependence on
"structure care".

so what the heck am i talking about besides w.t. taking over
2 & 1/2 men? ....imagination . because of our higher level our cortex
gives us, all human beings have the ability to imagined & create
thoughts beyond our 5 basic processors [ smell , touch, hear...]
now how would you cope if you lost control over your imagaination
& could not turn it off? or having it turn on without you even knowing
or trying ?

we need to recognize and understand mental health we we are to
improve our prevention of tragedies. all psych meds, are chemicals
that are slowing down brain activities so the person can use
logic and maintain self controls.

since we all have imaginations, so is the potential for problems.
if society pay more attention to s/s indicating these problems
then acting, some of these terrible "acting out" incidents could
be prevented. etoh works directly on the brain. & is action is
a depressant. no wonder, many ending life, are drunk?

no kidding aside, c. sheen was right about dr. drew. he has never
spoken to him .no person , with any education credentials have the
right to pass judgment. in reality, it makes me questions his true intentions.
fyi, when i first interview the pt., i make it a point that we are here
for helping them , by listening to them. in no ways, are we will try
to advised how they should live life. in reality, that would be wrong.
the only thing i could possible advised them with any accuracy,
what is right for me. as for them, they need to decide what they
should be doing, based on their own value system & their goals
for life. our "job", is to support their needs by educating toward
options that can help them over come problems & reach their goals
for finding their goals they need for personal fulfillment &
being happy with their position in life. & finding happiness based on
their value system , not my. the only person dr. drew should be making
judgments , is himself.

in this situation, i think dr. drew should be listening & taking lessons
from c. sheen. [ also nancy g. needs to keep her mouth shut about
nurses, as she has no nursing knowledge. ] these celebrities people
can harm others. maybe they need to be reminded...."their rights
end when their words or actions begin to hurt others. & since they
are showing s/so of personality d/o, i'll add....the aswer to "how do
you know you're hurting someone?"...psst when they tell you!

wow?!..can you imagine me & w.t. going psychotic in the same
room? what a pretty sight?

morning my friends.

Sun is out again but it is DANG COLD...Megara is screaming at the front window at some car that had the nerve to stop in front of our area.......she thinks she owns the street.......Maybe next house she wont be able to look out the windows.....i can only hope...

Lynette.....take a few of the vanilla beans and put them in a bottle of vodka and leave in a dark cupboard for a few weeks and voila....you have good pure vanilla.....I love this.Ours is at least four or five years old but dear hubby put six beans in a big JUG of vodka......he doesnt do anything little.......HONEST..hahaha..

Did the doctor routine yesterday.....I have two big black and blues on one arm and one on the other arm......new girl (only ten blood drawns under her belt) tried to get mine....I was very calm and let her but the second poke felt like she was crocheting under my skin...I DID YELL.OMG it hurts ...remove it please.........then the regular blood sucker did the other arm and she didnt hurt but I am sure black and blue now.......I told the new girl she will do fine......just practice (on someone else..hahaha)...so when I left the office I had two gauze's on one arm with a big strip of tape and then a big bandaid on the other arm for one stick... A1c will be finished I hope in a few days cause I know I have been good these last six weeks ...I know it went down....Cause I refuse to take any more drugs......got it....hahaha

See you later gators

Moo-- just finished watching Biggest Loser. I felt so bad for Arthur. There was no way he was going to win that challenge. I noticed that the black team is all girls now. I am afraid they are going to go one at a time now. They all had a good weigh in. The girl on the red team should have gone home for only losing 1 pound.

Pumba-- Your husband sure likes to do things big. I would never use that much vanilla. I hope your numbers are good too.

Another windy day today and cold. This year it is all about that wicked wind. BRR.

I watched Idol last night , the girls are tonight. Too much on again tonight with Survivor and Hannah's Top Model. I should just save all my recording for the weekend when nothing is on.

we have had the same bottle of vodka/ vanilla for maybe five or so years.....I do use it when I cook, make frosting, puddings and cookies and alot of other foods.....but I am only down one half of a bottle so far......it is a great smelling vanilla.....and when we make home made ice cream it makes the flavor outstanding.......YUMMY...

The dreary day is upon us.....makes me wonder where the sun is hiding out ...
MY little grandson who is 6 has a bug going around....belly aches and upchucked and also he has a rash over his whole torso back and front.....I mean BAD rash...but the office thinks it is viral.
Now my oldest grandson had the fever and upchucking yesterday....he is 19 and of course he is on deaths door with the illness......neither one of them have been around each other for a month...so bugs are rampant in maine

oh this is funny..

One of the older kids that used to come here....now they are both in HS ..well one night they called and asked now I made my frosting ...cause they love it instead of a canned frosting.
SO I commence to tell them and then I said...And a jigger of vanilla.ROFL......I do make myself laugh some days...

Pumba, I had to laugh, these were the ads on the bottom of the screen when I read the update. It's eerie how they read the context from messages and post applicable ads!!!

I've been in Forecast hell, glad it's over.

Lil G, glad to see you back!

Welcome back, Marita! Glad forecast is over for a while :goodvibes

Nabbie - I was upset they sent Arthur home too, but it looked like he did really well. I think it probably helps that he can work out with his dad and they can both stay motivated. Some of the women are looking really good! I was amazed at how much better the black team did compared to the red team while they were at home.

Pumba - Hope your test results come back GREAT! Sorry your grandkids are feeling poorly. Jigger of vanilla. LOL!

Hey, Lil G. After watching several clips of Charlie Sheen's interviews, all I can say is "YIKES!"

Pumba, I had to laugh, these were the ads on the bottom of the screen when I read the update. It's eerie how they read the context from messages and post applicable ads!!!

Big Brother is watching.

Howdy Moovers. I am sooooooooooooooooo happy the sun is shining and the weather is *almost* picture perfect. I like it a "tad" warmer. But I don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Did I just call mother nature a horse? Seems disrespectful-ish.

Nab-That weather update was just for you. ;)

Anyway, glad Lynt likes her job. What is it again? Trapping feral cats to add to your collection? Right up your alley. (cat)

LilG: Glad to see you once again. I agree with Moo, in regards to Charlie. YIKES.

Everybodeeee: Shout out and Hollah!

I am busy, busy. I had plans with a friend today, but they keep canceling out on me last minute. This is like the bazillionth time in a row. I used to wonder if the problem was me, but decided "why would anybody not want to hang out with me????" :cool2: I KNOW. It IS a puzzlement. haha.

The thing is I should have been a boy scout, because I am always prepared. You see I had a back up plan. I mean fool me once, shame on you. Fool me a bazillion times, shame on me. Or something like that. So I am hitting the shower, and then hitting the road. And the only thing on the agenda is fun!

I decided I work way too much these days not to have a little fun, kwim? So today is all about fun and merriment. Feel free to join me and my cohort(s).

Can anyone answer why I am listening to Camp Rock on the computer? I mean Julia hasn't even liked the JoBros for a year or more. I like that "This is Me" song though. So JoBros it is this morning. I have upscale taste in music, dontchaknow.

Twink: I didn't forget ya, no sirrreeee I did not. I got a baby name for you.
I don't think I have shared this one.

I am sitting in the nursery with another nurse, Traci. And Jodi (nurse) walks in to the nursery having just attended a delivery. And she exclaims "Well Messiah is here!!!"

And Traci, in absolute astonishment and bewilderment says "AS in CHRIST?!?!?"

and Jodi says "Not quite. Messiah Jones (last name changed so as not to violate HIPPA)"

I said "Talk about setting your kid up for failure. How can anyone not expect miracles and perfection with a name like Messiah?"

True Story. I hope you enjoyed it.

my dear friends grandson was named...
CAPTAIN MOXIE.....and then last name put there.

I look at this little boy and I cant call him captain....

Ava is sleeping and I am playing .

Our realtor said the house we were waiting to see, but because it is under contract....well it looks like it went thru so we need to move on....I said that not her..

So on to looking again.....there is one close to Lake Auburn and it is nice but taxes are higher then what we pay now....so that is one that we have to weigh the differences.....do we want to look at the house or just pass it by...OH WELL.....now that spring (well the month is here) is coming ...more people will put the houses up...alot of people hate to move in the winter...

See ya later gators

Those are some strange names....poor kids.

Sunny today and finally no wind. It is suppose to be about 0 again for the weekend can't wait.

Pumba-- Yeah Spring is when people put houses up for sale. In the winter you can't see the yard either. My Mom is thinking of selling her lovely home because of the taxes. But now a days everyone wants a perfect house all done up like the shows on HGTV.

Not doing much today....the usual of cleaning , picking up and running one to the dentist after school for a 9 month check -up. That would be Nicholas. He also needs a hair cut for his grad picture next week.

Twink: I didn't forget ya, no sirrreeee I did not. I got a baby name for you.
I don't think I have shared this one.
Good. Because I almost had to invoke the brownie clause.

True dat. But lets talk about spellun. Mess-iah. I forsee Peej's future classroom full of little Mahsighah, Meseyah and Miss-aye'ah.

I almost worked for a guy named Major Smith (last name changed due hippos ;)). It almost makes me want to have another baby so I can use my favorite military title as name. Who wouldn't want to play with Gunnery Sergeant?

True Story. I hope you enjoyed it.

SIGH. I used to love the names! Back when I was employed in the Labor/Delivery drive-through (a week ago, *big sigh*) I LOVED the ones that phonetically spelled the name to seem more cool. I wanted to punch them in the face.

Love the baby name updates, LOL!

Great to see so many old friends back.

Well, I'm back after forecast hell. System crashes galore and Khaki wanted to everything herself, which drove me nuts cause I'm a doer, BUT she has to learn soooo...........

Today we went along on a room walk, meaning going to check guest rooms for cleanliness, maintenance issues, etcs. The rooms were all looking good, but the team (GM, Exec Housekeeper, Custodial Manager, Chief Engineer, Furniture coordinator and Khaki and I) are a picky crew. Inspected for dust, clean glasses, no stains on sheets, everything in working order, general stains, signs of mildew in the bathroom, wallpaper border starting to peel on the edges, etc). All rooms looked pretty good, but one had dust, another had a missing electric plate behind the armoire (you had to really look for that), or a croocked bed skirt, etc. One out of 4 rooms got an A (the others were 2 Bs and a C).
The Housekeeper whose room gets an A after inspection gets a little PLASTIC key. You say: WHAT???? A little plastic key?????? What kind of reward is that. That's what I said too.

The Housekeeper who earned the key was about 4 rooms down working. We got her outside and the GM said she did really good with the inspection. She got a bit excited and said, does that mean I get a key? And the GM then said yes, and handed her the key (1" plastic, mind you!). Well, you would have thought she won the lotttery!! She hugged the GM. jumped around like a kid, was all excited, had her picture taken with the key and the GM. Totally made her day. It was a lovely thing to see. I bet she showed it off to all her coworkers and family and walked on air all day.

Oh, another thing to look for is tidyness of the Housekeeper carts. Dirty and clean things separated, towels stacked no higher than the glasses. Apparently Safety and Health comes and inspects these things.

Oh, and we are on the naughty list for cost of sales overruns. I think I found a big chunk of the issue today, that being that a $20,000 entry was incorrectly posted. (which will get us OFF the review by Major review by the VP naughty list!) :worship:

In other non-news, I am taking tomorrow off!

bbn - I did indeed enjoy your baby name story! :goodvibes Hope you had a fun day!!!

Nabbie - Hate to tell you this, but your wind may be back soon :(

Marita - Yay for your day off tomorrow!

Today was my hubby's birthday. We had a nice birthday dinner with my FIL and his wife. Thumbs up for the Under 550 Asiago peppercorn steak at Applebee's. I got some yummy chocolate buttercream cupcakes for birthday dessert. And we had a nice phone call with our DD after we got home :)

My knee is feeling better today, thank googness.

1. How about a gift goat? Would you look one of those in the mouth? Or a gift camel? (They spit, so better not.) These are shirley things to ponder.

2. Everybody wants to be a cat. Because a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at. So there.

3. Whoa now! Don't diss Charlie.....he's WINNING! :scared:

....how can anyone not expect miracles and perfection with a name like Messiah?"

Also recently had Truant and Rebel. Do with that what you will.

Messiah? And Truant and Rebel? That's quite an array of doozies! The latter 2 make me feel like I should have named Boris and Natasha something better. Dangit! Maybe I should've gone with Miscreant and D'Linqua? <---I think Delinquent would be too pedestrian, but D'Linqua makes for a nice variation, no?

True dat. But lets talk about spellun. Mess-iah. I forsee Peej's future classroom full of little Mahsighah, Meseyah and Miss-aye'ah.

Oh, heck yeah! I can toadily see those names being used for future Thugbabies in Miss Peej's class! Although I'm fairly certain there will be excessive punctuation and RAnDom caPItaLiZaTIons. :rotfl:

The Housekeeper whose room gets an A after inspection gets a little PLASTIC key. You say: WHAT???? A little plastic key?????? What kind of reward is that. That's what I said too.

I harumph the idea of a plastic key as a reward! As you knew we all would.

ETA: Hi Moo! Glad the knee is better!
