1. I have GOT to stay off the CB main board!! (or someone go over and cyber slap a couple of posters that totally misunderstood me - the adults that have been molested thread! :sad2: Just let me vent... God Bless the Beasts and the Children for in this world, they have no voice... *sigh

2. This latest College school shooting is very close to where I live, where friends are at the school, where friends' kids are at the school... sitting here, in a suburb watching the news from Chicago interviewing people from your home town is beyond sad.

I got the sweetest love note from a blond haired, blue eyed, very handsome little man today. It said " Dear mom, you are the best mom in the hole world. I love you infinity and thats a lot. XOXOXOXO Riley" It was on a sheet of heart shaped lined kid paper mounted on a red construction paper heart.

Now that's a bigger treasure than a 3 ct. flawless diamond ring and I'm feeling more blessed than humanly possible!

OK Thanks Wendy - that post made me cry - too sweet - and you had better find a place to hid that note - seriously!! That one is a keeper - I should take a picture of 2 notes I have kept - one from DD on a mother's day card - it was a "wow" moment... and the other is when ds now 22 wrote as Santa to DD who asked for too many selfish gifts. They now write each other every year - (and dd isnt sure who her "Santa" is!! Just wait till she finds out it isnt Dad!!) (I mean Santa!! :sad2: Santa is real, Santa comes to our house, just ask any one of my kids - they will totally convince you!! honest!)

Thanks for the  and  today, ladies! Sending lots of :grouphug: back!!!

My hubby redeemed himself a bit today. I am slowly getting out of my bad MOOd. Also, I decided that I'm probably taking tomorrow off work even though I have to get up earlyish for a doctor appointment.

Tonight I called and left my DD a Happy Valentines Day phone message since I didn't get a card out to her. Hope she was out doing something fun.

Marita, you can lure your DS over on a regular basis before he leaves by fixing one of his favorite foods each time you want him to visit!!!!!!

I said awwwwwww while reading most the posts today :goodvibes

Mony, I LOLed over the Hostess cake. Those pink snowballs around the bottom really made it work! :lmao:

Night, all. Have to let the pups in and try to go to bed at a decent hour (yeah, right) :rolleyes1

Sleep well Cheryl. Its been a long week - you've worked so many hours this week, you need a break - I highly recommend that doctor of yours gives you a prescription that can only be filled in Disney, by the Fairy Godmother - she has special pixie dust!! It will cure all kinds of evils!!

Glad you emerging from your funk, Moo! :grouphug:

You bet I will cook up a storm for DS.

Latest indications are June, so I have time yet. He stops by a lot even without dinner now.

Ok Marita - your posts made me cry too!! Seriously, you have a lot to be proud of!! and I cant wait to hear of all the recipes you are going to make for that special son of yours!! May God continue to Bless you!!

I'm still up - had to go take my turn in my Scrabulous games :cloud9:

I read about that shooting in the news, Sandy. SOOOO sad :grouphug

I like the idea of that prescription!!! :thumbsup2 I'm trying to finagle a short May visit, but it probably isn't very doable. We'll have to wait and see what kind of internship or job my DD ends up with. And what the graduation visit schedule will be . . .

OK, now I'm really going to shut things down

Sandy...step away from the Community Board!!! Just stay here. It's somewhat safe. ;)

Night, Moo.

DW & I didn't even get a card from our oldest (soon to be 18), but I am sure he spent well over $75.00 on his GF. DD (15) made us some nice cards - she is a very artsy fartsy girl. She CAN be so sweet sometimes:)

GOOG MORNING! oTGIF!

" Dear mom, you are the best mom in the hole world. I love you infinity and thats a lot. XOXOXOXO Riley"

I think that is the absolute sweetest Valentine ever! Worth more than diamonds for sure.

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day. Today my valentine and I are going to see the Spiderwick Chronicles after school and maybe McDonald's for supper. Woo-hoo! (He did give me a Spongebob valentine and a hug.)

I went to the school party yesterday. All the food was pink, red, and white....string cheese, yogurt covered pretzels, heart shaped jello jigglers, strawberries, and some very elaborate Martha Stewart-ish heart shaped cookies with strawberries jam and a sugar coated top layer to frame the rest. It looked like a 6-step process to me. These first grade moms are so enthusiastic! (I brought the red juice boxes in case you were wondering.)

Moo....Glad your feeling better.

NAB
....Sounds like your uncle was abundantly blessed.

Cy....I too am wondering what DD got her boyfriend yesterday. Not even a hug for ole mom. She actually works at a restaurant and had to work all last evening.

Sandy....Don't respond to any of those threads on the CB!

BNCG....People who don't know about the DIS? Not sure they deserve a shout out!

Everybody have a splendid day!

Morning. Happy Day After Hallmark Makes You Feel Guilty If You Dont Indulge The Ones You Love With Cards and Gifts. Does that sound bitter? Ha. I'm just joking y'all. Sheesh, calm down.

Glad it was a nice Valentines Day for you guys. I had a good one too. The kids begged for the heart shaped pizza from Pizza Hut. So, I called Pizza Hut, but they didn't have heart shaped pizza. Apparently Papa Johns did. Of course I berated my children for giving me false information. I wouldn't want them not to have learned from this experience. ;) So, I called Papa John's and woohoo who knew (that rhymes!) that heart shaped pizza would put a smile on the lil rugrats faces.

Plus that meant I did not have to cook supper, which put a smile on my face.

Plus, Ethan brought me peanut M&M's from his class party. Upon receiving this precious gift I declared that he indeed was my favorite child and that I have only been pretending to like the rest of them. Which caused a fit of giggles and somehow the redhead suddenly remembered that HE had a Reese's cup in his Valentines bag and held it out to me with a smug look of satisfaction. I have taught my offspring well. Reeses trumps M&M's. duh.

But now I have to look perplexed and declare that perhaps the redhead is actually my favorite child and the older two said "well what about us?", and I asked them "Did you bring your mother chocolate for Valentines day?", to which they replied "Yeah right." to which I replied "Well, then you are sucky children." To which they replied "Cool" *high fives* "We suck!"

PJ, wouldn't you agree this is how I talk to my children on a daily basis? The lil freaks.;)

*disclaimer* Lest I cause a juice-box worthy scandal, I love my children with every fiber in my being. They know this. We joke around. a lot. I tell them I love them on a daily basis, and hugs and kisses are dished out in ginormousTMdubya proportions. TY and good day.

Where was I? Hmmmmm.

Sandy: The Community Board is evil. At least that's what I heard through the dis grapevine. Seems like every post I have ever made on there incites some kind of riot from a bloodthirsty mob. Kinda makes me wanna make a post right now.:rolleyes1

Lex: Are you not an equal opportunity shouter outer? I shout out to all regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and knowledge of the disboards.

Rob: Good to see you have embraced your creepiness. You wear it so well.

Marita: Did you just call us fiends? Well, if the shoe fits...

Celery: I realize this is overlapping worlds, but have a nice Sunday with the breadman.

LilG: Jane Fonda and her potty mouth. lol I know you never use words like that.

Moo: Glad you're feeling a lil better today.

Cyman: Glad your son had a nice bday and more importantly a delicious cake.

Utah: What a sweet thing for Riley to do. Dont you just love kids?

Skidamarinkatwinkatwink: Have you survived your wild and crazy week? Hellooooo? Are ya still with us?

Nab: Not every kid in the class gives out Valentines? What kind of rip off is that? Dangit, if I buy your kid a Valentine then your kid sure as heck better slap their name on a piece of paper with a picture of Hannah Montana or Scooby Doo or Spongebob on it and give my kid one too. For the love of not feelin' the love. Why do I feel the need to say I'm joking after everything I type this morning? I'm joking.

Have I rambled on enough? Shall I take my leave of you? Perhaps I am loopy from working too many night shifts this week. Maybe those SCREAMING babies in the nursery last night finally did me in. Maybe I used up all my niceness and politeness after my patient told me she was refusing for her baby to have a bath. Have y'all seen babies after they are born? It is a disgusting process to say the least. She wouldn't even let me wash his hair. It was NOT pretty. I had to use gloves anytime I touched the kid cuz it had her contaminated blood all over him. I hope she lets him have a bath today. Is this some Montessori philosophy?:rolleyes1

Morning All,

Babynurse--eww that is gross. Did she give a reason for not wanting the baby bathed. After my son came out he did his first poo , that stuff was so black and gross. Good thing the nurses got to clean up that mess. Thank goodness for Babynurses :lmao:

We love your sense of humour here E. I don't think you need a disclaimer.

Moo--glad to see you back!!!

Cy-- Costco cakes are so good. And huge did you eat the whole thing! You will be sugar overload like Twinkie.

Marita-- fatten your son up before he goes. Who knows what food he will get when he is training.

Lexi-- Love how your post is the first I see in the morning. I must admit I was Martha Stewartish when the first one was in Kindergarden.

Hannah has a skate and movie day. They are trucking them over to the theatre this morning then to the arena. She gets to see the Veggie Tales movie. Half the school goes today the rest go at the end of the month, meaning Nicholas and he gets to see Spiderwick. I will go this afternoon and help tie skates since they are Junior K to Grade 2.

Rob: Good to see you have embraced your creepiness. You wear it so well.
Hey! Careful with your labels, BBN. The people on this thread don't know me real well and may not realize that I am also a wonderfully sweet guy!

ETA: Now that I reread this, I fear it may come across as harsher than it was meant to. Allow me to clarify: I'm joking with BBN as she was with me (at least I think).

-- Rob

the sun is peeking into the living room again.......I think this may of been the second time in over a week.....Megara found the sunbeam on the carpet....she does love that.
Last night we went to our favorite restaurant and it was all in darkness.....the whole area was......they were still without power....so we get on the road again and go to another restaurant that we dont usually go to.......Now I know why..but heck it was food and filled the BIG crevice ......we then did our groceries and I find out later that they charged me 3.34 for a lb of grapes....I think that was high way robbery.cause the ones I wanted was 1.49 a lb and these were the gold plated ones......rolling eyes here.

Hubby is at work and I am in my housecoat......the egg lady came this morning and delivered my six dozen of fresh free range eggies......I give two to my daughter ......sell one dozen to my neighbor and then the rest are ours......and she doesnt come for two weeks......I cook with them and eat them for my special eggie mcpumba......delicious......and only 27 carbs for my breakfast....gotta love the numbers....

Moo reporting in! I did indeed decide to take the day off.

I saw my wonderfu nurse practitioner this morning. She gave me an off work slip for the next week in case I feel it will take that long to de-stress. And it also covers working intermittently if I should choose to do that - we'll see . . .

I think I am going to go see a movie now!

" Dear mom, you are the best mom in the hole world. I love you infinity and thats a lot. XOXOXOXO Riley"
Oh my goodness! How sweet!

Ok what did I miss???
:confused3
Hehehehe. Big L (what is her name here anyway? Oh yeah! Lalijack!) is crazy cat pee lady. Wheat thins has been writing stories about us and he decided that Big L isn't really a mom to two kids - she lives in a scary trailer/shack with a million cats.
So she's crazy cat pee lady.

Yum! Gold plated grapes! My favorite! :lmao:

Glad you're getting some R and R, Moo!

Hi to everyone else!

Babynurse--eww that is gross. Did she give a reason for not wanting the baby bathed. After my son came out he did his first poo , that stuff was so black and gross. Good thing the nurses got to clean up that mess. Thank goodness for Babynurses :lmao:

True story. EVERY baby I touched last night, and we had a completely full, overflowing nursery, had a surprise for me in their diaper. But that wasn't enough, when I would go to change the diaper EVERY baby (boy or girl) subsequently pee'd without the diaper in place. I thought I was crafty by the time this had literally happened to me FOUR times, so I threw a blanket over the next baby. Sure enough she pee'd on it. So I go to take the diaper off and place the new one under her, but before I could do it (and I'm fast at diaper changing. this is my livelihood. my bread and butter) SHE PEE'D AGAIN ON HER OUTFIT AND BLANKET!!!!

There was a baby who had not yet allowed his kidneys or digestive track to work yet, so the other nursery nurses said "Hey Elisabeth, could you just walk over here and open his diaper so he will pee and poop on you so we can cross him off our list" Lil Smartypants nurses!

It was just that kinda night. *whew* I feel better.

Thanks Nab. You are always so sweet!

I'm joking with BBN as she was with me (at least I think).

Keep on dreEming.:rolleyes1

them for my special eggie mcpumba......delicious......

McSounds McYummy.

Sorry I so plagiarized that from McWheatThins.:flower3:

I think I am going to go see a movie now!

Have fun! We are going to the movies tonight too. Caleb is having his bday slumber party with a bunch of stinky boys (according to Julia). I have no idea what we are seeing yet. Think they will go to the dollar theater and catch "Enchanted"?popcorn::

2. Completely ACK and beurk worthy, imho. I Could Have Puked On My Shoes, but it didn't quite seem to fit the scenario.
