Moonlight Magic v. Merry Mixer In December

My family always loved the DVC Merry Mixer parties held at Epcot. As it was replaced last year with an after hours event, has there been any announcement of any special DVC event this year in December?

On a number of occasions, DVC has claimed they were not done announcing Moonlight Magic dates for 2018. Adding 1 or 2 in December would be a logical move. Or additional dates may never materialize. In my humble opinion, 14 nights throughout the year is pretty impressive.

I'm guessing this would be very early Dec (if anything)....?

We are planning on Dec 16-21 but have a couple of nights at the beginning / end booked just until I can get flights secured.

I wish they would announce them waaaayyyyy in advance. In the past three years, we manage to plan a trip and hit one of them. I think that's about 8-10 trips in that time span. Our trips are already planned before hearing the date of a event.

It is like a stock holders meeting if you have ever been to one of those.

The management is there giving annual reports, explaining the costs at each resorts why some went up and why some went up a lot. Many times there is a video previewing what is coming up, what was done in the prior year. There is usually a Q&A where you will hear some of the most bizarre questions/complaints people can come up with. I think there were light refreshments.

How/when would we know (quickly) if Dec dates were announced? Do they simply put it on the DVC member website - and we'd have to check daily? Is there any pattern to when they have announced for previous months that would indicate if/when December dates are announced?

I'm still waiting to see what perks the DVD/DVC new management will end up keeping or getting rid of. Moonlight Magic was put in place by the last SVP.

I've already given up on ADRs. Snagged some good ones, but none of them are working out for me after a few changes to our plan. Sigh.

We have some good ADR's. I need to buy MVMCP tickets, schedule our Sleigh ride and book a tour. Since I don't know if they are going to do anything in December or what night if they are I am waiting to do my final schedule. I have times allotted for all of the above, but that can all change.

Disney Vacation Club 2017 “Moonlight Magic” after-hours events

• Magic Kingdom – February 24 and March 3.
• Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park – June 22, 28, July 5, 13.
• Disney's Animal Kingdom – September 6, 13.
• Disneyland Park – November 15.
• Epcot – December 4, 11

Note that members are only permitted to book one event at each park. Since they already have covered all the bases, maybe they’ll offer one more round @ whatever park specifically to those who missed out.

2018 Dates:

Magic Kingdom: January 11 and 28, February 6.

Disney's Animal Kingdom: March 21, April 17, May 16.

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park: May 30 and June 11.

Epcot: July 16 and August 15 (originally August 13, date change announced 1/31/18.)

Disney's Hollywood Studios: September 19 and 26, October 3.

Disney California Adventure: November 15.
