Moonlight Magic - Staying off property

Just wondering if anyone has had luck in previous years getting a Moonlight Magic reservation when the general registration opens? I will be staying off property in Jan for a last minute trip and I am hoping I will be able to get a reservation for the Epcot event.

Some definitely get in but it’s not very easy.
