Moonlight magic registration

The second chance at getting Moonlight Magic is really abysmal and I agree it sucks. IMO if I wasn't staying on points I would've bought a room for cash to see if I could get it for that one night and then try and see if I could get Moonlight Magic on the first go around and if not then cancel the room. But if you were renting points then I could see why that's not an option. It's okay, I promise nothing at Moonlight Magic is worth the savings you likely got from renting those points vs. paying cash lol. There will be many more years of Moonlight Magic.
I had considered getting something at a value, but if it was pouring rain, we wouldn’t have gone. DH uses a scooter and I don’t believe they are waterproof. Not sure if a poncho thrown over control panel is sufficient.

I've never been in HS when it floods.. but I have been in AK and MK when the water goes up to your half way up to your knee. I don't imagine HS would be that much better. 10/10 do not recommend. With a scooter I wouldn't even be worried about the control panel but more about the depth of the water in certain areas. Regardless, I hope you and your family have a great trip!

I forgot about the instant swimming pools.

Thank you for the good wishes.

My daughter had 380 and did not get tickets....it seems so random
wow, how did the person who said they had very low 400 get in?

Last night I was thinking, if all the deluxe/ DVC rescorts (are there others beside?) are allowed into the late magic hours, why can’t all dvc people on site be allowed into moonlight magic. We went to a mk deluxe hours once in early December and it was amazing.

Yeah, grasping at straws, very soggy paper straws, but I was so excited to see it fall within our dates, never knowing it was a lottery to get in.

All deluxe resorts are allowed into extended evening hours. I think it has to do with the free food, entertainment and etc. in addition to of course the extended hours. I know not everyone comes to extended evening hours from the deluxe resorts, but it also happens twice per week. Moonlight Magic only occurs twice per park per year not including MK this year and pretty much everyone who has tickets for it will be there. People make a special trip out of it just to be there for Moonlight Magic.

DVD has to pay for the park to be open later and to provide the additional free things for it. So, they want to keep it limited to certain numbers…which is why they won’t be able to accommodate all

For the extra hours, you not only have to be deluxe but must have a valid ticket which includes park hopping, unless that is your park of the day. So, not All eligible go.

So 20 thousand per event, or 5 thousand families. How many WDW DVC rooms are there? Plus those who have dvc but are staying at a non dvc resort . And then the second round of off site people. The math is getting way to complex for me. But still sounds like a really small percentage.
If all of the lockoff villas are counted separately, there are about 5500 DVC villas at WDW. Sounds like a pretty high percentage are admitted to the event. Though it makes sense to impose a cap so that the events aren't an overcrowded nightmare.

The general registration is tough because they only hold back a small number of slots (probably about 10%) and people are competing with ever DVC owner who lives within driving distance.

I’m just totally bummed that I’ll be sitting at AKL that we planned months ago before the dates were mentioned and couldn’t get in.

I mentioned before we got into one some years ago, since then, a few more dvcs have been built. Has the number allowed in risen or just a lower chance?

Since they continue to sell direct points, the pool of members will continue to grow.

Unfortunately there are never going to be enough spots for everyone who wants to attend, attend.

One change that might be popular is for owners to be limited to only one event for the year..not just for each park.

So, if you are there for both Epcot and HS, you decide which one to try for and if you get one, you are not eligible for tickets at the other one.

I think it's partly where the events are held. I 'think' they let fewer people into Hollywood studios than animal kingdom or Epcot. So a capacity issue...but I could be wrong... since I'm just guessing.
