Hello we are new to the DVC family and wanted to know how you get notified about these events? Is it an email to all the DVC members? If the dates are for next year 2020 and the normal announcement for the hours comes out around Nov 2019 do we just have to keep looking on the DVC website?
If we have a reservation for a vacation club stay I know the booking window is earlier but I can’t find where it says how we are notified. Is there a spot on the DVC page to sign up for these alerts? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

We never get any emails for DVC but they post them on the member site and the forums/blogs/FB pages blow up with the info once it's announced. If you just watch the DVC forums on here you'll find out asap once they're announced.

I usually just check the website to see if dates have been announced for events around the time we're thinking about going.

Just keep checking, whether it is forums, FB, or the member site. There are so many different benefits/specials that come and go they just post them for everyone to see on the member site rather than sending out emails to everyone all the time. There is plenty of advance notice for most of the MM events as they announce them all at once so you don't have to check daily or anything like that....maybe take a look every couple of weeks especially as we get closer to the end of the year.

When you get access to the DVC Member website, on the far right of the top banner you'll find "My DVC" similar to "My Disney Experience" on the WDW website. Under that menu you can click on My Profile and then on Communication Preferences and sign up to receive emails, etc. Be aware, though, that despite signing up, not everyone receives email notices timely, so I agree with the PP above - watch these pages, FB, etc. because they'll often notify you before you get the email from DVC (if you get it at all).
