Hello all -

I’m sure this has been asked before but does anybody have personal experience of changing a reservation after securing moonlight magic tickets with a reservation at a particular property.

I’m currently booked in a 1 bed 9th Dec at Wildeness lodge and this enabled me to get MM on the 10th. If I MODIFIED to another resort with longer availability of nights would I lose the MM at AK ?

Anyone have personal experience of this ?
Thank you all 😀

Our experience with modifications for the same resort: In 2023, I waitlisted to modify my reservation after I secured MM tickets during Early Registration, thinking that a modification would keep the same reservation number. Same resort, but instead of leaving on the day I had MM tickets, I wanted to arrive on that day. The waitlist came through with a different reservation number and I panicked. I emailed MS and was told that the tickets are NOT linked to our reservation, but rather, to our DVC Membership - the only thing linked is your ability to book MM tickets during Early Registration and now that it's over, we had nothing to worry about. They cited that the proof is that people who got tickets for MM during the General Registration don't necessarily have rooms, so there is no "linking" component between the two. We were able to go to our MM and had a blast!

Wow thank you SO much for your reply and for sharing your experience. That’s very kind of you.

I’m hoping to get a few more nights in a row at another resort so this is so helpful to know.

So glad you had a blast ! I can’t wait to come back to WDW again !

Thanks again 😀

I went to the MM at Epcot in March. When I registered for it, I was booked at AKV. About 10 days after the registration, my waitlist for the BWV came through. I don't believe my reservation number changed, but honestly don't know. Had no problems with getting in for Moonlight Magic. And even better, I was at a much more convenient resort for an Epcot Moonlight Magic event.

You won’t lose it if you modify the reservation to a different resort. We have had that happen a few times now.

Agree, as long as it's a modification - therefore the reservation number stays the same, you should be fine.
