Has anyone ever heard, or seen, this musical? I bought it yesterday and I've already listened to it 4 times today while at work and LOVE IT!!!!! It's the funniest musical I've heard in a long time. It's based off of Monty Python's "Holy Grail." Staring David Hyde Pierce, Tim Curry and Hank Azaria...funny. I would love to see it, but ticket prices for his show must be fairly high. Any broadway show's out there that's a must see for someone? I also want to see "Avenue Q," and "Wicked."

Spamalot tix have been hard to get since the show came out. Especially in the beginning when the entire cast (Tim Curry, David Hyde Pierce, Hank Azaria, etc) were there. Now only some are, and I think they switch out every few months.

Ave Q was great, I highly recommend it.

Saw it in NYC back in July.. I was very lucky to get affordable tix... It was fabulous!!!!

ETA: It was the original cast minus Hank Azaria

I really want to see this musical. I love the music for Ave. Q. The one thing I want to know about Ave. Q. is, what happened between Nick and Rod? Unfortunately the cd doesn't give you that information.

DH bought us tickets for a 2:00 matinee in late Feb.
any clues on hotels? restauraunts in the area of the Schubert?

thanks in advance-

I'd try hotels.com

ETA: I asked this question on Tripadvisor.com and got these responses...here's The Link

thanks for the linkCapeCodTenor!
what we need to know is what areas/hotels are 'safe'. If it's not the parks @ WDW beloved DH doesn't like to $pend, we'll be the folks with lime green Mickeys on our cardboard shelters!
FYI, DH got our tickets in early Nov, for about 100.00 per person, orchestra F 10

I really want this cd. It looks great.

Of course, I didn't get it for Christmas. I did get Barnes and Noble gift card, though. Trying to decide if I want to buy it off of itunes but I have this thing about having the whole shebang.

It's right off of Times Square..you'd be in the in mix staying near the theatre... which is fine but overwhelming!!! You'll have your choice of many very commericialized restaurants!! The Doubletree suites is one of your roomier places to stay.

We usually stay Downtown, last time across from WTC at the Millenium Hilton.. quieter part of town, nice for down time even an indoor pool and we have learned to navigate the public transportation system quite well!

I got mine for $37.50 each on Ticketmaster.. the absolute last row & seats in the house but well worth it!!! I'd go again if I had to pay to stand!!!

It is absolutely hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the funniest shows I have ever seen. Tickets are not cheap...we paid $140 apiece for tickets in the upper mezzanine...worth every penny.

I would recommend Carmine's for dinner. Make a reservation. It's diagonally across the street from the restaurant and the food is delicious.

I am going when it comes to Chicago in the spring, we had tried to get tickets during the soft opening here but it sold out...I am really excited about it.

My husband took my daughter the first time it was here in Chicago and they LOVED it. I am not a Monty Python fan, so I passed on it, but they still talk about it a year later.

I haven't seen spamalot yet, although I'm dying to and so excited...we have tix for March.

we saw avenue Q in october and omg, I've never laughed so hard at a show. seriously wonderful. I bought the soundtrack and listen to it often. very very funny.

Nicky and Rod are roommates in the beginning, and Rod is very in the closet (and very in denial). Nick outs him to everyone, essentially, even though Rod isn't out yet. there's a little bit more to it but thats it in a nutshell. Rod is so angry he kicks Nicky out of their apt, and subsequently Nicky is homeless.

Thank you so much...I couldn't get what was going on from listening to the cd. That clears things up a bit. Thanks again.
