Day 10 : One Last Park
(Friday, October 21st)
As noted before, we are now a well oiled touring machine as we wake up early and arrive at Epcot for the rope drop. Oh, I forgot to mention. Yes, we all chose
Epcot as the favorite park and decided to visit it for the fourth time (almost 50% of our days!)

. The kids all love Soarin & Test Track and mom & dad were all about the F&W festival (as Im sure youre all aware of) so off we went.
Since Moan Boy actually needs Test Track for park survival we shot off in that direction once the
Grand Opening Show was complete and motored

towards his fix. We walked right on satisfying his need then decided to head towards Soarin and get Fast Passes since you can rarely just walk on this ride without suffering through a 40 90 minute wait.
As we arrive at the Land we note an abundant of CMs dressed in Soarin costumes outside the pavilion with a lot of park visitors surrounding them. I thought to myself Uh-Oh, this dont look good and walked up to see what all the ha-bub was about. Turns out there is some sort of malfunction with the building. Yes, building. I ask the guy how we get Fast Passes now and he
hands us four Fast Passes for both Soarin and Living with the Land. We didnt even have to use our tickets.
As we stand there wondering what to do next, one of the Blue CMs is talking into a hand held radio then makes some sort of
secret Mickey gesture to the others and in unison they turn and walk towards the Land Pavilion without saying a word to anyone. Hmmm I think to myself. Something is up.
I anxiously told the wife to park the stroller and get the monkeys out and come with me. We follow the Blue Clad CMs up the ramp and into the pavilion and around to the right (Soarin is off to the left) then down the escalator next to the Living with the Land ride then over towards Soarin. Could we actually be walking on to Soarin right now? Yes! We followed them all the way to the Stand By entrance and were one of the first few to board. We walked the 670 yard queue area then right on to row 2 and next thing you know, we were flying over California. It was awesome. How often do you get to walk on to two major attractions without wait first thing in the morning? Not often would be my guess. Plus we had Fast Passes for the ride later on in the day! Something told me our last day was going to be a good one.
By 9:45 we had completed two of the best attractions Disney had to offer and without waiting at all. We decided to get Fast Passes for TT (Moan Boy could ride this all day long) which was now already a 40 minute wait then we went into the TT store to get Moan Boy some TT cars and signs as his souvenir. Next we went into Mouse Gears as mom wanted a book about Walt Disney (she found one) and also some scrap book material. Not being a very patient shopper I followed her moaning and complaining the entire way while the kids remained well behaved. Theres always gotta be one
We loafed around after that not really having any plans and just snacked and sipped wine and rode a few rides including all the Fast Pass rides we were carrying (three at once!!).
We took some time to eat another bratwurst at the German pavilion. This time I got the name of the kiosk: Sommerfest. We love this place. The brats and sourkraut are the best! The kids had a soft pretzel and both loved it.
We ended up leaving around 1 p.m. or so and headed back to OKW for a swim. We are seasoned pros now at the water slide so while I waited at the bottom, mom and the two monkeys all slid down the slide about 20 times each. By the time we were done, a couple hours later, my eyes were killing me from contact lenses mixing with pool water filled with chlorine, sand and God knows what else. No real funny stories on the water slide today. We knew what we were doing and we got it done.
While relaxing back at the room we were trying to figure out what we wanted to do for dinner on our last night. Secretly, I wanted to go back for Pizza at Giordanos on HWY 192 but was worried the others would not be so enthusiastic about eating anywhere except on Disney World. I used my old trick to get what I wanted.
I asked, Hey everybody, how about Pizza again tonight. Then, before they could answer, I started to chant Pizza, Pizza, Pizza. This trick always works the kids into a frenzy and once Ive got them on my side, Im unstoppable. It worked! The kids started chanting along with me. I then stopped the chant and asked, Should we go eat pizza? Mom said, Sure. Loud Girl was still chanting, Pizza, Pizza, Pizza. Finally, Moan Boy said, Test Track?. It was done, Pizza had won! I know what I'm doing.
The pizza was awesome as usual then we left in a torrential rain storm and headed to fill up the Buick with gasoline. The price of gas on WDW was Cheap!! $2.56 / gallon for regular unleaded. It was $2.87 on HWY 193 and $2.75 back in Montana. I wonder why this is?
The rain was huge band that came all the way from Hurricane Wilma which was still pounding the Yucatan Peninsula which is a 1000 miles away! The rain was really incredible and the windshield wipers could NOT keep up. I almost had to pull over as we couldnt see anything. It was the worst rain storm Id ever seen and it was the first rain of our 10 day trip. Im glad it was on the very last day!
With bellies and gas tank full, we headed for OKW to finish packing and get ready for the flight home in the morning. We checked out now so we wouldnt have to check out at 6 a.m. and then perused the bill. We had spent a lot of money but it was worth it. We are all ready to head home (except Moan Boy) and the oncoming hurricane and poor weather helped motivate us.
After 11 days in Florida, we are REALLY ready to leave. At home we have a spotless house waiting for us. Before we left we shampood the carpets, made the beds, did fall cleanup in the yard, and put in fresh Glade Plug Ins in all the outlets.
We set all the alarms, left a wake up call just in case, then hit the sack at 9 p.m. We had to get up 5:30 so wanted to be rested.
Summary
Moan Boy & Test Track We really lucked out with this ride other than that very first Saturday at Epcot. This ride breaks down a lot and Moan Boy just wouldnt understand if he could not ride it. We avoided complete Melt Down the entire trip and we are grateful for it.
Soarin I love this attraction more each time I ride it. I also notice new smells each time. You want to be in Column B, aisle 1 or 2 if possible. This seems to be the best spot. Really though, no matter where you sit, you will enjoy it.
Sommerfest in Germany Our favorite counter service restaurant in WDW. We just love the brats, krout, and beer!
Disney Gas Why is it so cheap? Do they do this on purpose? The station wasnt owned by Disney but maybe they regulate it. Also, why are the automatic levers removed on the nozzles? Its a pain to have to hold the nozzle the entire time while the tank fills up.
Last but not least, The Summary
