Monstrous Summer All Nighter

I'm stuck at work for this 24 hour party. Last year's was a blast so I am sure this one will be too.

Hey everyone! I got to MK this morning around 10pm and enjoyed the park, rode space mountain, splash mountain and pirates. Although the park started to get crazy around 2pm. I left around 5pm and came back for wishes and to buy some limited edition merch. What a mistake! You couldn't move! At one point around 10:45 pm you literally were standing still on Main Street. Made my way over to tomorrowland... ZOO! Then I waited over an hour for the monorail. Overall, Disney did not seem up to cattle-ranching everyone or providing any type of guidance.

Haha yea it was a madhouse! We left after Wishes and were detoured behind Main St to get out because all the people... We took the ferry back and it was packed too

Gosh I wish we could have gone, but we will be living in Orlando the next time they pull an all-nighter. I watched the silent live feed for awhile and got to see the parades and fireworks. I feel sorry for the poor cast members who have to put in the extra hours.

They get paid for the time, don't feel too badly for them.

We were so happy to find out that the week we were visiting, there would be an all-nighter. My grand-daughter and myself decided to head into the park a few hours prior to the parade to ensure a good seat for the parade. We sat on the curb in front of Casey's about 2 hours prior. Not very comfortable..but hopefully worth the wait. As it came close to parade time, we were surrounded by those who show up last minute and push their way in. By the time the parade started, there was a lady next to me (last minute arrival), who decided she would hold her tablet out (in my way) and videotape the entire parade. I did ask her to lower the tablet..but had no luck. All my pictures have her in them. Now....I have dealt with this type situation before at Disney...so was not overly surprised and if it ended there...I would not be posting this. As the parade ended, MORE people showed up for the Wishes. So now the main road is filling in with people standing..which means you can no longer be sitting (if you dont want to be stepped on). Stood with everyone else. More and more people show up and you are literally an inch away from the person next to you. The cm's are telling everyone to move ahead and fill in even closer. The show starts..for a few minutes, we can see about half the castle. There are people taller than us, and folks with kids on their shoulders in front of us. A few minutes later..we can only see the top of the castle. Then we both realized we were in a very unsafe situation. If any little thing happened..this could turn into a bad situation ( I thought of other events where people were trampled). Other folks must have felt the same and like us, they decided to leave. Now we see cm's and managers in the street trying to help those who want to leave find a way out. There were those that were trying to get disabled people in wheelchairs through the crowd and those with little children. Some really were quite panicked. It took a long time for us to make our way to the front of the park. I do not think Disney anticipated the crowd they would have with the all-nighter. The park didnt close for being beyond capacity..yet this was a situation that could have easily turned out much worse. I was sad I did not get a chance to share the magic of Wishes with my grand-daughter. Hopefully the new Magic Bands and FastPass for parades and events will fix this situation. Sorry this was so long...just had to vent...and was wondering if anyone else experienced this.

I was at MK last nite to see the parade and the castle show, watching the parade was no problem , but afterwards trying to get to the castle was a freaking nightmare .i was in frontier land to watch the parade since all the spots on main st. was filled, there were SO many ppl there it was standing room only, it was a waste of time to try and see the castle show, I could only hear what was happening so I just decided to leave, it took me a half hour to get to the gate to leave. from the castle to the train station was wall to wall ppl. I've never seen it that crowded before even during christmas.

I'm glad it wasn't just me who experienced this. I felt bad for people who were having a short trip and this was there only experience of the park. Also I wanted to stay longer but didn't see the point. I heard it died around 3:45 am.

Sorry I missed this thread before the All-Nighter. I was there. In fact, myself and another DIS buddy got caught by the WDW Facebook team a couple times and our pictures were put on the WDW Facebook page. :) I didn't think it was too bad, people-wise. I guess we somehow avoided most of the issues.
